The Aspire One AOD270-1835 10.1" Netbook Computer (Burgundy Red) from Acer features a unique "water ripple" pattern design and a burgundy red finish. Just 1" thin and around 3 pounds, this Acer netbook is easy to carry around while you're on the go. The 6-cell lithium ion battery sits flush in the chassis, which further streamlines this Acer netbook's look. It also provides up to 8 hours of battery life on a single charge so you can stay mobile.
The 10.1" CrystalBrite widescreen display is backlit with LED lamps, which use less power and provide better picture quality than their CCFL counterparts. The screen has a 17:10 aspect ratio and its 1024 x 600 native resolution is supported by integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3600 graphics, which can dedicate up to 64MB of system memory.
The system is powered by a dual-core 1.6GHz Intel Atom N2600 processor. It also has 1GB of DDR3 RAM, a 320GB 5400rpm hard drive, a mult-in-1 media card reader, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, an integrated webcam and microphone. Windows 7 Starter is the installed operating system.

To the smartest laptop buyer,
I just purchased my acer 10.1 unch laptop. Theres a lot of positives. And negative. first of all, the laptops thin and easy to carry. its perfect to have for traveling or any regular trips. iT IS a bit small to type alot but u do get used to it. Another thing is that it comes with a bunch of fun programs (skype etc) but it gets slow if u have alot of options and programs open at once.
ANYWAYS, i hope i didnt scare u off, im telling u its worth every penny. B and H really scored again this time. the colors are so fun and youthful and modern.
U can totally download avg, its a free "norton"
BTW, if ur like me and ur internet explorer freezes, its okay bc all u gotta do is download google chrome. ITS ALL BETTER

I bought this netbook with a single purpose in mind: to store all the large-size RAW photos I take during trips. I first explored the possibility of buying extra SD cards, then later looking over some of the portable photo storage drives, like Digital Foci Photo Safe II and Sanho's HyperDrive. But the deal breaker for all these solutions was $/GB.I'd almost given up hope on a decent solution when I realized I could purchase one of these netbooks with a 320 GB hard drive -- plus have a much larger screen to review my images as compared to the HyperDrive devices, for a fraction of the cost.Sure, I could have bought several really cheap and slow SD cards, but due to the rapid-fire action shots I take, I didn't want to sacrifice my camera's performance.Now I have a travel-friendly 320 GB storage solution I can take with me, and even use Photoshop Elements on it to review my shots at the end of the day.The one drawback I had with this model was the poor amount of RAM - just 1 GB. But being a bit of a computer geek, I ordered a 2 GB replacement and spent an hour carefully disassembling the machine to replace it. (Warning: this is not for faint of heart folks. You have to have the right tools and hardware savvy to pry open the keyboard tabs, remove the keyboard, detach the back case, etc., to get to the RAM slot. Even being as careful as I am, I scratched a tiny section of the black keyboard with the removal tool.)

I mainly use this netbook for personal wordprocessing in a coffeeshop or public locale. For such task, the battery is potent enough to get me through an at-least 4-hour session. The look, light weight, functions, small dimension and portability of it makes it such a pleasure to bring it around and work whenever and whereever I feel like, even during a 10-minute break while waiting for a friend at a Starbucks recently. The downside of having this sweet netbook is that I am not seen with an Apple iPad, which I am really not used to using, thus further lowering my hip-factor...
