The mica Lowepro Event Messenger 100 Shoulder Bag is a lightweight yet durable messenger-style bag that holds a DSLR or mirrorless system camera and accessories. It can hold a DSLR with an attached 18-55 lens and 1-2 extra lenses, or a flash with one lens, accessories. It can also hold a mirroless camera with an attached lens and 2-3 extra lenses, or a flash and two lenses, and accessories.

The bag has an easily accessible main compartment, adjustable dividers, a front flap, as well as an additional zippered closure for the main compartment. The interior is customizable using adjustable touch fastened dividers.

The Dual-Mode Flap system consists of touch fasteners that can be used to close the bag without using the snap coupler. The fasteners can fold back so that when you open the bag, it will not make the ripping sound that hook-and-loop touch fasteners are known for. The front zippered accessory compartment contains pockets for pens, memory cards and your phone. The bag is carried by an adjustable shoulder strap or its top grab handle for quick access retrieval. It's made from a combination of a nylon polyurethane exterior and polyester, tricot, foam interior.

I chose this bag to hold my Sony Alpha NEX-C3, an interchangeable lens camera (approx. 4 inches by 3 inches by 1.5 inches), and its accompanying lenses - a zoom lens (approx. 3-4 inches tall, 2 inches in diameter), a macro lens (approx. 3-4 inches tall, 2 inches in diameter), and a pancake lens (approx. 1.5 inches tall, 2 inches in diameter). The main compartment is large enough for me also to slip my point-and-shoot camera, my wallet, and cell phone without any crowdedness. Without the above extra accessories, I can store another lens (approx. 3-4 inches tall, 2 inches in diameter), though the lens must be attached to the camera or stored very closely to it without any padding. The bag comes with 4 fully adjustable walls so that you can make your own compartments as needed. Additionally, there is a separate compartment in the front that holds an extra battery, a lenspen, an memory card, a small flash, and a hood. There are very thin pockets on both sides of the bag and on the back for holding very thin pamphlets, such as an owner's manual, or pens. The strap is easily adjusted for cinching the bag closer to your body and contains rubber underneath for a better grip.

I felt most pleasantly surprised by the bag's roominess, particularly with the adjustable walls in the main compartment. The bag is very sturdy and not easily tilted upside down, even when the front flap is open; at first, it seems precarious to carry the bag by the top handle while the flap is open because the bag naturally leans forward, but your equipment is secure. The bag feels weighty enough for me to drop my camera with a lens into the bag, close the flap, and continue rigorous activity before taking the next picture.

I am most disappointed by the thin side and back flaps. I could barely fit a pen in the side flaps, and the back flap is very tight when holding a 1/8-inch wide owner's manual and an index card. Also, the bag is available in only one color, which isn't bad, until you see the other Lowepro colors available for other styles.

Perfect for mirrorless cameras with enough space to hold a extra lens. I love the velcro or clip option for easy and fast accuses.

If your looking for a bag for you SLR I would not recommend this bag because it will be a little tight.

This bag is stylish, and has great adjustable compartments. It's not too bulky which is great when you just want to carry the basics. However, it is a little tight with my Cannon EOS 60D.

Comments about Event Messenger 100 Shoulder Bag (Mica):

Very nice looking, well-made of good material. I really like the option of having buckle plus velcro closure, or buckle only for silent operation (velcro is very noisy). I tried several ways of using the padded dividers, but finally gave up. I removed them entirely and just wrap my Fuji lenses in the cloth wrap they come with. In the main compartment I have the XT-1 with 23MM lens attached, 14MM lens, and 56MM lens. I tried to add the 35MM lens, but just won't fit unless you cram, and even then, you add more weight. In the zippered compartment I have extra battery & SD card, filters, lens cleaning cloth, and RR-90 shutter release cord.

Overall, I like this very much. Had it been just a tad larger I would have rated it 5 stars, but you can't design a bag that is going to be perfect for everyone.

I'm glad I found this bag to carry my Canon T1i. The camera base and 2 lenses fit in the bag. I like that it is small and not so bulky. However, it is a tight fit to have the camera base and 2 lenses in there. My 2 lenses are 18-55mm and 55-250mm.

Usual excellent Lowepro materials and overall quality. Main compartment has two large dividers secured by velcro. Fits a Limix GF6 with either the kit zoom or pancake 20mm attached to the body with room to spare. Can imagine a GX7 or OM-D fittin no prob. The other lens fits into one of the corner compartments with a hood. Next to that is a small tripod and battery charger. Front pocket holds essentials.

This bag is listed for a camera and a lens, my regular-sized Pentax DSLW wouldn't fit and my additional telephoto zoom, certainly wouldn't fit. This is a decent quality bag for a point and shoot camera.

I am using this bag w/ the panasonice G5. It will fit sideways w/ the stock lens 14-42...snuggly, and i am able to carry two additional lenses....and old film 50mm/ adapter to fit the G5 and an olympus 45-150. The fit is tight and I rather wish I had gotten the next size up.....but was on a budget. But all in all, it is a very stylish bag. Love the clean look and material

Comments about Event Messenger 100 Shoulder Bag (Black):

This is a good messenger style bag for an ILC or small DSLR with a lens attached and one or two relatively compact lenses. I use it mostly for my Nikon D5200 with a Sigma 18-200 II OS HSM or Nikon 18-105 VR attached and a Sigma 10-20. Sometimes I add a Nikon 10.5mm fisheye. With the fisheye it's very snug, but it fits. For any more than this consider the Event Messenger 150.

I also use it for my Nikon P7800 and Nikon SB-300 flash.

In short, I like the bag, but I wish it was a little bigger.

Great camera bag, just barely big enough for a Sony A7 with extra lens, compact tripod and a few accessories. The fold-out side walls that pop up when the lid is open is a great way to limit the chance that stuff will fall out of the bag when the lid is closed. Looks great, and doesn't look too much like a camera bag which is a good thing.

Comments about Event Messenger 100 Shoulder Bag (Black):

I needed something to hold a recently purchased Panasonic G5, Lumix 14-42mm kit lens and 45-150mm zoom lens. It currently holds that plus a lens pen, microfibre cloth, spare battery and extra memory card.

The G5 body is larger than many micro four-thirds cameras but smaller than your typical APS-C Canon or Nikon so it sits quite comfortably in the 'lens down' position. There is even enough room to keep the longer lens, with hood, attached to the camera.

The bag comes with a number of internal separators of various sizes to help configure the bag to your needs. As with other bags of this design, it can be a bit fiddly to get the separators quite where you want them but once in place they are held securely by velcro fasteners.

If you prefer the option of sealing the camera compartment with a zip, Lowepro offers another model that does that but the velcro and latch at the front do a good job of ensuring the camera stays in place.

All in all, a great little walk about camera bag.

Comments about Event Messenger 100 Shoulder Bag (Mica):

I got to see this bag before I bought it so I was pretty sure it would fit my camera and I was proved correct. The canon t3i fits snugly inside the bag with its 18-55mm kit lens attached. However if you have a larger lens with a longer zoom range you would have to remove it and stow it next to the camera. But if you're using a smaller lens like I am there is room for the camera with the lens attached and either another lens or whatever else you need to carry with you. I carry all the other small components I need in the bag, battery, cables, small notebook etc. Also well padded and sturdy.

Lots of room in an incredibly small size. Also seems very well made. Only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is that it is difficult to open with 1 hand when it is clasped. Easy when only the velcro is used, but that isn't as secure. I recommend this highly.

We wanted a casual and not-very-big camera bag, so that we could have it with us any time without looking like professional photographers...
We only want to carry our Nikon D5100 with attached 18-55mm lens, but without any additional lens, flash, ...

This bag is perfect for that. You can put the camera, with still some additional room for a few more small items in the big compartment. In addition you have several little pockets, where you can but your wallet, phone, extra SD card, a small book, ...

Comments about Event Messenger 100 Shoulder Bag (Mica):
