I have to walk home at night after work, and I was looking for a bright light that would fit in a pocket. This light is perfect.

Comments about Pelican 2360 LED Flashlight:

This is a great little light that feels sturdy. It has two modes: high (bright) and low (dim).

        High mode:
Great light output - very bright, and very white compared to other LED flashlights. It has decent 'throw' but I'm not sure if the beam carries as far as the previous version (with only one output). Regardless, this light has a narrow beam with a bright hotspot in the center of the beam, and a dim outer ring of 'spill' light. So it's better for seeing far away (outdoors) than close up (indoors).

        Low mode:
The low output is pretty bright - brighter than some other LED flashlights' low mode. It may be too bright for your needs.

        Tail switch:
The tail switch feels sturdy. It has two functions:
        1. With a soft press of the button, it turns on the light (in high mode). The light will turn off when you release the button. This is called momentary mode.
        2. With a hard press, the switch 'clicks' the light on (in high mode), and stays on. This is called constant-on mode.
The momentary mode does come on with a fairly light pressure, so you'll have to be careful throwing it into a bag or toolbox - it could turn on accidentally. There is no lockout mode to prevent this; you'd have to take out the batteries.

The rubber switch also stick out from the back of the light, so it can't stand up on a table and point towards the ceiling (aka 'tail stand' or 'candle mode').

        Switching high/low:
You can switch between high and low modes in two ways:
        1. Soft press (high momentary), then release, then soft press again within 1 second (low momentary), then hard press to click it on (in low constant-on mode)
        2. Hard press (high constant), then release, then hard press again (off), then hard press again within 1 second (low constant).

Even though the tail switch doesn't require much force to turn the light on in momentary mode, it is a little difficult to press it hard enough to 'click' it on in constant-on mode. That's because you have to push the button way down below the rear 'bezel' in order to click it on.

The only feature to keep it from rolling off a table is the pocket clip.

I've described a few nit-picky limitations of this light, but overall this is a great light at a great price!

I've never seen a small flashlight like this one, it's built like a tank. It's really heavy duty, built to last. Very bright light. Just hold it in your hand, then you know it's really a quality product!
