International Orders*The Sony 32GB XQD Memory Card is a card supporting the XQD specification for high-speed, high-performance digital image capture. This specification has been approved and licensed as an open format by the CompactFlash Association. Now, XQD compatible high-end DSLR camera users have the ability to capture as many as 100 frames (approx.) in RAW format in continuous shooting mode with the Nikon D4. These highly reliable cards also serve to protect your data. Enjoy blazing-fast read / write speeds of up to 125 MB/s (approx. 1.0 Gb/s)! These transfer rates are achieved via the PCIe interface, a computer expansion card standard for serial interfaces. The card boasts a data storage capacity of 32 GB.
The XQD card features a unique controller and optimized flash memory allowing for high-speed data processing, yielding speed and performance that is impossible for traditional CompactFlash cards to match. Use this card with the USB 2.0 / 3.0 compatible XQD card reader (model MRW-E80) and the XQD ExpressCard Adapter (QDA-EX1) (both sold separately). These devices enable you to quickly and easily transfer large amounts of data, such as RAW photos, to your computer for an efficient workflow.

I was skeptical too. When I ordered the D4 I wished it just had two CF slots, as I already had a pile of CF cards and they worked just fine, and who wants to adopt a new standard? Well, now I wish the D4 had two XQD slots. In the end all I really care about is performance and the XQD (and lets remember that these are the slowest XQD cards that will ever be made) simply crush any CF card I have (except the Lexar 1000X cards but those cost more than the XQDs). I've purchased several 32gb XQD cards now and sincerely hope they become the new standard.

Comments about Sony 32GB XQD Memory Card:
I wish my D4 had both slots for XQD cards. They are smaller than CF cards, faster and there's no way you can break any pins. CF cards are more durable than SD cards already. This is definitely the next generation. As I'm still using CF cards, I bought the H series because of a crazy sale and the speeds of my Lexar x1000 cards would be more closely mirrored. Will wait until the S series cards drop in price.

Comments about Sony 32GB XQD Memory Card:
Obviously I wasn't excited about having two different cards in my new camera or having to move to a new, more expensive card format. But wow is this card fast. Almost makes up for the trouble.
I still do need to have a CF card in my camera as well for when I shoot for other photographers.

Comments about Sony 32GB XQD Memory Card:
I'm really happy with XQD. The camera to card, and card to computer speeds are phenomenal. The size of the card is perfect, not too big, not too small. I wish my camera had two XQD slots instead of one. It would be nice if other cameras adopted this format so I would only need one card format to carry. I hope this format catches on.

Comments about Sony 32GB XQD Memory Card:
I was skeptical at first because I have own several compact flash cards but after first huge job where I filled up 2 of XQD cards and several compact flash cards, the download speed was lot faster 9 minutes for the 32gb XQD versus 32minutes for 32gb Sundisk extreme cards, so now I wish Nikon would of
put 2 XQD card instad of one of each. By the way te card is much rigged and
no more worries that you can bend a pin like I did in my D3 while back with cf
card which set me back some $$$ to get it fixed.

Comments about Sony 32GB XQD Memory Card:
Great memory card if you need it but rather costly. I use mine with a Sony PMW-200 camcorder in place of the SxS cards. The fast read/write speed of the XQD cards and the ability to except UDF formatting are needed to allow the camera to record at it's highest bitrate. Although expensive compared to SD or CF they are better, and are a cheaper alternative to SxS.

Comments about Sony 32GB XQD Memory Card:
Bottom line is this card gives you a 15 minute head start in getting your event work published. It's that fast. You can pay a lot more for a lot less advantage. This card is a "must have" for shooting action events.
My initial thought was "why another card format ?" But I've dumped all my CF cards as the XQD blows them all away. I shoot up to 10 second action bursts at 9fps and this card always keeps up. It imports to Lightroom as fast as if it were a local sata drive.
32gb holds about 1500 D4 RAWs so you want the larger size. The H's are plenty fast for me. Unless you shoot insanely long sequences I cant imagine what you would gain from the S version in terms of speed (The H upload speed already appears run at the USB3 limit).
Last I read, this card only works on the Nikon D4. It is however so superior to CF that I have to imagine it will be adopted by other cameras. Until then I will enjoy the speed advantage ;)

Great cards. Wish there were more choices so that the price would come down. Nikon should have made the D4 with dual XQD slots instead of one - CF and one XQD. Very dumb Nikon!

nothing i hate more that coming home late from a wedding and spending hours downloading,,,, the download speed is fast and consistent and doesn't drop like CF cards.

I wish the D4 came with two of these slots. Fast buffer and faster loading into lightroom 4 with the XQD reader. I really like them and yes they are faster than the CF and SD cards. Sadly, very expensive and the rumors of them not being around in the future

I use this for sport/ski/skateboard/event photography.
It is also fast during image reviewing. It is as big as a fat SD card.
The 32 GB seemed like a decent value compared to the 16 gb
