Even before you turn it on, the Samsung PN43E450 43" Class PDP HDTV enhances your environment by simply being a beautiful object. The black-brushed frame creates an illusion of floating which is augmented by the + 1" design, which is designed for a larger viewing experience in the same space. By narrowing the bezel of the TV, a sleeker, more contemporary look is achieved, as well as a larger screen. The additional inch of TV viewing space can fit into areas where other similar size TVs cannot.
One feature Samsung has made a staple in this plasma TV is the addition of SRS TheaterSound HD. This exciting feature translates into a high-definition audio experience that delivers surround sound multi-channel content, using built-in TV speakers to significantly enhance both the depth and dimension of audio right through the TV for a simulated surround sound experience.
Furthermore, ConnectShare Movie technology allows users to connect a thumb drive or digital camera quickly and easily. With the user friendly interface, you will have access to videos, a music playlist and pictures via the remote. Samsung audio and video devices connect via one of the two HDMI interfaces. Finally, Energy Star compliance ensures that your TV will save you money while it helps preserve the environment.

Comments about Samsung PN43E450 43" Class PDP HDTV:
Overall, I am quite satisfied with the purchase of this television, especially in terms of image quality which is very good. It's extensively described in CNet and consumer reports reviews so I don't have much else to add. I haven't tested the sound quality since I have it hooked up to a sound system. The screen is quite reflective so glare can be an issue if you are not operating this television in a dark environment. It also emits a slight buzz which is audible even at sea level (apparently common with plasma televisions); I don't find it bothersome. I'd say that at this price point it is hard to beat; I'd buy it again.

Comments about Samsung PN43E450 43" Class PDP HDTV:
My living room is smallish, so this TV looks like a billboard!
Price, size, Samsung's reputation (and B&H's)plus good reviews from the web prompted me to purchase this set, and I certainly have not regretted it. While 43 inches is sort of an odd size it looks great at 16:9 or 4:3 aspect ratios. The lack of connectivity doesn't bother me, as some have mentioned. In fact I was looking for a "no frills" TV (hard to find these days), so this fit the bill nicely. No smart TV for me, with features I likely wouldn't use, I wanted a "dumb" TV! ;)
So the resolution is fine for my needs too. At "only" 720p you really can't see a difference from a higher res unless you get really, really close. Uncomfortably so. Picture quality is very good, and the viewing angle is outstanding. Being a plasma the contrast and black levels are very nice and dark, no hint of grey that I can see. Easy to tweak it to your personal preference.
The menu system is intuitive and everything you'd reasonablly need is there. The finish of the entire set is pretty glossy, even the screen - which can exhibit a fairly annoying amount of glare and reflectivity under certain conditions, no matter if the TV is on or off. Powers up very quickly, shuts down just a tad longer.
The remote, while smallish, is good and even has a useful backlight button.
Sound quality is good enough, but a good sound bar (at a minimum) would likely kick it up a notch, esp for movies.
If I could give a 4.8 rating it would only be for the glare factor, so I had to round up to a 5 star.
Well pleased with the bang for the buck this TV offers.

Comments about Samsung PN43E450 43" Class PDP HDTV:
Purchased TV for bedroom because of no direct sunlight. The picture quality is amazing, I don't like the overall bright LCD/LED displays. I enjoy a more realistic picture like a plasma with deep blacks. The only con is that it isn't as slim and light weight as the LCD/LED displays. I isn't a Smart TV, however I decided it would be better to buy "google tv" or Roku or whatever and hook it up to make it a smart tv.

I use this TV for DVDs, Wii, Hulu+ and Mac Mini. The image is great in low light but has a lot of glare in a lit room. I got some image retention from using the Mac even with a screensaver. I'm hoping it's just because it's new and will go away with use. The price is very low for a 43 inch. It came with a broken screen but b&h sent me a new one fast and it's in perfect condition. Great customer service.

Comments about Samsung PN43E450 43" Class PDP HDTV:
Bought this TV when the last one went haywire after about 7 years. I bought this based on the reviews of consumer reports and others so I had a pretty good idea of what I was getting, before ordering. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles that some TV 's have, but I wanted a good basic TV with a good picture for the main living area and that is what I got. The price was excellent and it shipped very quickly. It was easy to set up, too. The picture quality is great, the color is clear, and the TV can be viewed clearly from different angles. The only negative I have found is the sound. It is hard to hear clearly without really turning up the volume. I may try to find some type of speaker system or enhancement. My old Vizio had much better sound. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase.

No problems so far with this TV. As generally noted for plasma screens, it doesn't show up very well in sunlight, but that's not a criticism of the product. Easy to set up, nice and light to move around, settings seem fairly intuitive. So far have never needed to push volume past 10, although it goes to 100!

This is a great HDTV with two HDMI inputs, also with two components inputs for some old equipments. I specially like its sound system, very impresive speakers. The TV power up quickly, which is also a nice thing because you don't want to wait for 10 seconds like some other HDTV.
The best part is the low price if you want a base line HDTV it is it, this is my choice obviously based on my through resaerches.

We were given an entertainment armoire designed for the old tube TVs by my sister so we were limited on space. This TV fit perfectly. Not fair for me to comment on glare with no windows behind us and the protection from all sides with the box frame of the armoire. However,we do have lamps near our sofa and they do not create a problem. We bought this at the going price point and it is worth every penny. The TV's sound blows away the 32" Sony Bravia LCD we had in the living room. That's important to me with a hearing loss and no plans to hook up to a more robust system. Most of the time, I listen in standard sound mode with the TV's "clear voice" -- the option is great. Great for hockey and NASCAR. Can't wait for baseball!

I've owned a 1080p LCD tv, a 42" Sharp. This Samsung has a better picture. Really. I watched golf at Pebble Beach yesterday. The Sharp had some glare too. Viewing angle is superb, limitless. Set-up was a snap, not confusing. I'm in a small apartment, sound is no big deal to me. I may hook it up to my stereo. I bought it for sports...especially for hockey, a fast sport. Motion blur is no problem with this TV. I can follow that puck, Baby! B&H did their job.
