Product Highlights
  • Quickly Set Your Camera White Balance
  • Works for Still and Video
  • Provides Accurate, Consistent Color
  • Calibrated and Certified for Neutrality
  • Use in Ambient, Studio or Mixed Light
  • Easy to Use, Durable, Compact

The ExpoDisc Neutral White Balance Filter allows digital photographers to quickly and easily set an accurate custom white balance.  Each ExpoDisc is individually assembled, calibrated and certified for neutrality in the visible spectrum, and for 18% light transmission.

The ExpoDisc can be used on-the-fly to set a white balance in-camera when shooting JPEG, or later in post production when shooting RAW.

Using an ExpoDisc to set a custom white balance results in consistently balanced color and eliminates many of the yellow, red and blue color casts commonly seen in digital photography.

The ExpoDisc is easy to use.  Setting a white balance with the ExpoDisc eliminates many of the inconsistencies and inconveniences associated with using white balance cards and targets, including unwieldy size, unwanted reflectivity, improper angling, and shadows.

To set a white balance with an ExpoDisc, simply take a photograph of the light source (incident light) through the ExpoDisc, then follow your camera's instructions to set the camera's custom white balance.

Because the ExpoDisc is calibrated for an 18% light transmission, you can also use it as a reference tool for manually determining proper exposure.

The ExpoDisc is available in a variety of sizes to fit most popular lenses.  The ExpoDisc does not thread into the lens; instead, its quick mount design can be pushed-on and popped-off to facilitate a quick white balance.

ExpoDiscs do not screw in. They lack front threads and were designed to be pushed-on over the lens threads in order to facilitate a quick white balance.

Comments about ExpoImaging ExpoDisc 62mm Digital White Balance Filter - Neutral:

Does an excellent job, photo color needs little to no adjustments when used.

Does not thread onto the lens which is a pro/con. It makes it easy to use but also makes it fall off the lens fairly easily.

Comments about ExpoImaging ExpoDisc 62mm Digital White Balance Filter - Neutral:

Very simple to use and wonderful results. Be sure to read the instructions and follow the links included for tutorials to obtain the proper balance you may be looking for (perhaps slightly warm, etc.) or for proper use on your particular brand/model of camera. Since you can hand hold this over your lens, buy the size for your largest diameter lens - then you can hand hold it on your smaller lens. I was truly amazed at the results.

Comments about ExpoImaging ExpoDisc 62mm Digital White Balance Filter - Neutral:

I set my DSLR to manual white balance, place the ExpoDisc in front of the lens (there is no thread to cross-thread), point at the light source and shoot. That's it for as long as I am shooting in the same lighting condition.

I have not had to change the white balance on the resulting shots in my post-processor. Since this is a frame at a time procedure, the time savings is significant.

Of course, if the light conditions change, and I forget to rebalance, it's off to work again later.

I wonder if it's possible to incorporate this type of functionality in the body of the beast.

Using one on a Nikon D70

            By Charlie

            from Chattanooga, TN

Comments about ExpoImaging ExpoDisc 62mm Digital White Balance Filter - Neutral:

Excellent accessory and extremely easy to use. Construction is first class. Built like a tank. I leave my D70 on preset and the expodisc hanging on my neck when shooting. It takes about 10 secs to adjust the WB. I have the neutral filter and I am wanting to try the warm filter. I was going to buy a new Nikon but I am extremely satisfied now with the D70 and the neutral expodisc. Instructions are first class. Each expodisc comes with its own spec sheet. Here is mine:RGB color saturation: Red: 00 , Green: 00 , Blue: .01The expodisc pops on and off like the lens cap. It is worth the money!!!!!!!!
