Superb Quality with HD

Fujinon 5x Optical Zoom & 28mm Wide Lens
The renowned Fujinon Lenses are widely used in numerous situations including satellites in outer space, TV/film, surveillance, and compact cameras. With the highly adept manufacture of Fujifilm, high precision optics and technology are provided for the 28mm wide angle (35mm equivalent) and 5x optical zoom.
28mm Wide Angle
28mm optical zoom lens allows you to capture the real scale, depth, dynamism of the scene at a wide angle.
14 Megapixels - With Vivid Colors and Clarity
An impressive 14 megapixels resolution won't miss the finest details of your subject. Images are captured sharp and clear, in vivid colors, even when printed at large sizes.
Dual CMOS Shift Image Stabilization
Dual Image Stabilization is the combination of high sensitivity and CMOS shift image stabilization that works to eliminate blurred photos by freezing action and minimizing blurs at maximum zoom range. It works in scenes such as subjects in motion, low-light conditions, and underwater that usually give blurry results.
HDTV-compatible Photos & Videos
Able to capture both photos and movies in high-definition 16:9 format, the FinePix XP50 lets you discover the impact of full-screen HDTV image display. Movie Shooting--capture high resolution images in 16:9 format (1,920 x 1080 pixels). Allows the use of the 5x zoom during your recordings.

Fun & Flexible Shooting Modes

6-Scene SR AUTO
Framed scenes are automatically detected and selected into appropriate camera settings: Portrait, Landscape, Night, Macro, Night Portrait, and Backlit Portrait.
Pro Low-Light Mode
Ideal for shooting non-moving subjects in low light, this mode automatically takes a series of four high-sensitivity and low-noise exposures and then combines them into an image with less noise than the single exposures.
Dynamic Range (HDR)
This mode uses Multi Frame technology to capture three consecutive photos shot at high speed/under-exposed, normal exposure, and over-exposed. The three images are then layered to an optimum balance of detail in shadow and highlights, eliminating "blackout" or "washout" and producing pleasing, natural gradations.
Face Detection
Face Detection optimizes people pictures by identifying faces and adjusting focus and exposure to ensure bright, clear results. Red-eye removal automatically detects and corrects flash reflection for a perfect end result. The Face Detection can simultaneously recognize up to 6 faces in a photo. Share your group portraits using the zoom up function in playbacks, checking each detected face. Each priceless expression can be cropped and saved in clear high resolution results.
Face Detection Timer Function
The Face Detection Self-timer automatically sets off after the number and position of faces in a scene are detected, snapping the photo at the right moment, with all the faces in focus and properly exposed. Just the two of you? Couple Timer waits until two faces are close together in the frame. Select "Near," "Close Up" or "Super Close" depending on the level of intimacy you're aiming for! Out and about with your friends? Group Timer mode gives you time to get into position as it waits until the number of faces is detected in the frame. You can select up to 4 faces and enjoy the moment ready to be captured!
Motion Panorama
Lets you take panorama photos as simply as 1, 2, 3! The camera automatically stitches together consecutive shots for a 360° view, with simple in-frame guidance to ensure the images are aligned. The resulting image is saved to the memory card as an impressive panorama.
One Touch Underwater Movie Recording
With just a touch of a button, shoot movies underwater. No settings. Just press, shoot and enjoy the movie.
Tracking Auto Focus
Keeps fast moving subjects in the frame and in focus, even at 5x zoom extended. Great for capturing dynamic close-ups.
Versatile Shooting Modes
In addition to a wide range of shooting modes, the FinePix XP30 offers a selection of versatile scene positions that ensure optimum results no matter what the scene, including SR Auto, Auto, Program Auto, Natural Light, Natural Light & With Flash, Portrait, Portrait Enhancer, Landscape, Motion Panorama, Sport, Night, Snow, Sunset, Night (Tripod), Beach, Underwater, Underwater (Wide), Underwater (Macro), Party, Flower, and Text.

Great Camera for the Jr. High art room

I purchased the camera for use with Jr. High art classes. It is wonderful, so durable I don't really worry about the kids damaging it.

Fun camera b/c can use in water but picture quality overall not great. Also, battery slot allows the battery to be put in upside down.

Comments about FinePix XP50 Digital Camera (Black):

The Fugi Fine-Pix XP50 is an excellent Waterproof Camera, however it does not have the availability for and AC adaptor, for previewing and modifying photos. I was able to find an Olympus Waterproof Digital camera (TG-620/820) that does come with an AC adaptor, and is very comparable to the Fugi XP-50.

Comments about FinePix XP50 Digital Camera (Green):

It is a decent camera if one takes into account that it belongs to point-and-shoot category. Slow speed on shutter release as any in class. Small and compact size turns around at you when you try hold it firmly whithout blocking flash. Low light performance standard for the class. Overall I would recommend it as second camera that is "always with you".

Comments about FinePix XP50 Digital Camera (Orange):

You should not expect artistic pictures. Focus is a problem in corners area, there is a shutter lag and low light performance is poor. However you don't buy this camera to make artistic pictures. You buy it to take it on a bike trip where it can be easily dropped, to take underwater shots, or to drop it in a snow while skiing. Keep battery door clean of sand. It is poorly designed and water can penetrate easily if sand gets under the rubber...

Comments about FinePix XP50 Digital Camera (Green):

I've bought this camera for my young daughter, as she was showing interest in photography. I liked the fact she can take it underwater, use it in any weather, and even drop it without breaking it. The camera is very basic with easy controls. One touch button turns it into a video camera.
Picture quality is okay, the camera is small and my daughter loves it.
My biggest problem is the terrible shutter lag. And I mean TERRIBLE. Forget about capturing "The decisive moment". By the time this camera snaps the photo, your subject will be somewhere else, out of the picture even. It is a source of frustration that somewhat defeats the purpose of photography.

Comments about FinePix XP50 Digital Camera (Orange):

This is my second Fuji waterproof camera, and happily it uses the same battery as my first one. I use it mainly for underwater shots while snorkeling in the Caribbean, and I'm so happy with the quality of photos I get.

It's easy to use, fast shutter with barely any lag, great stabilizing and beautiful color, even when using lower resolution than the 14 megapixels it offers. Underwater movies are even more amazing.

My only complaint is that the battery is difficult to seat properly, and it can be put in in reverse. However when you get it in there corrctly, the double latch on the battery door is definitely a plus. I would caution anyone to not change the battery or card while still on the beach or in the boat after using it underwater -- you WILL get water in there. If your card is full or the battery is dead in the middle of your underwater photography excursion, call it a day and don't attempt to change either until much later when everything is very dry.

Great little camera for a great price.

Comments about FinePix XP50 Digital Camera (Orange):

This camera takes beautiful pictures. The clearity and sharpness is outstanding. We took some underwater shots and it looks like we used a very expensive professional camera. I highly recommend this camera because it has great quality and features for a great price.

I have used this just a couple of times.
The LCD is truly anti-reflective as advertised. I was in direct sunlight and could see the screen easily and clearly.
