The khaki Earth Explorer National Geographic 2342 Small Holster from National Geographic is a very lightweight bag for a small mirrorless camera, camcorder or small DSLR. Rated to hold two lenses and some accessories, this is a bare bones bag designed for minimalist shooting. For the video person, it will accommodate a small camcorder and media accessories instead of traditional photo gear.

The bag is made from a cotton hemp blend and accented with a padded interior that is gear-friendly and that won't damage the fine finish of your equipment. The single interior divider is padded and made to separate your gear into two areas to prevent them from rubbing together and scratching the surfaces.

The front has a zippered accessory pocket for cables, media cards, batteries or even your phone. It's a quick access bag with a zippered flap that guards the contents. The front flap is then touch fastened to the front of the bag. Unzip it, grab your camera with lens attached in shooting position, shoot, replace it, zip it and you're off again. A front accessory pocket will hold your media or business cards, batteries and other small gear including your phone.

The bag is carried by its non-removable shoulder strap or top grab handle that is perfect for those moments when you need to snatch the bag from your car trunk or closet.

The padded main compartment holds and protects a mirrorless camera or small camcorder, with media accessories
A modular divider enables you to separate your backup lens or accessories
Quickly withdraw your camera at any time
A zipper-sealed flap protects your gear from the elements
The front pocket stores media accessories
Carrying options include a shoulder strap or handle

Comments about Earth Explorer National Geographic 2342 Small Holster (Khaki):

I bought this as a second bag for my 6D Dslr specifically with a 40 mm pancake lens. Any other configuration would not fit in this bag since it is meant for compact camera systems. The fit for my configuration is pretty snug but serves the purpose excellently. I can walk around as if I am carrying a point and shoot in a very trendy looking and well made holster. The zips and material quality are just superb.

Comments about Earth Explorer National Geographic 2342 Small Holster (Khaki):

I purchased this product for my new Sony NEX-5R camera (with the 18-55mm lens). Wow. I could not be more pleased. It's like the bag was made for this specific item. There is nothing about this product that I do not like. I don't plan to purchase an extra lens, but I'm sure the bag would also have room for the pancake lens. Two padded compartments are in the main space so I also carry an extra battery there. There is a zipper pocket in front for a micro HDMI cable and the charger. The camera sits in its new home with the lens facing down and the handle ready to be grabbed. It is a very smooth operation taking the camera out of the bag or placing it in the bag. The adjustable strap allows me to shoulder it on messenger bag style. Product materials are all first rate. It looks cool. Now smile whenever. The camera has a smile detection feature. What a country.

Comments about Earth Explorer National Geographic 2342 Small Holster (Khaki):

I too love this little bag. Holds my Leica M w/5cm collapsable cron, a Sekonic light meter, and a few rolls of Tri-X. Allows me to have the camera with me at all times because it makes it so easy to carry anywhere.

And I love the rugged canvas look.

Only slight issue is I'm not crazy about the strap, for some reason when I grab the bag quickly I keep tangling the strap, but that may be just me. Otherwise, the little bag is flawless.

Comments about Earth Explorer National Geographic 2342 Small Holster (Khaki):

I told myself I must get a Net Geo bag because the idea was just so cool. I absolutely adore the magazine. Somehow owning a NG bag makes me feel like I'm one step closer to being a better photographer. I'm very happy with the color and size of this bag. I own a DSLR though, so it's too small for my camera with a big lens, but I will be using it for other things. It is small enough on me (I'm only 5'1.5" tall), and while I'm on a trip carrying a backpack, I can still wear this on the side and put my P&S cameras, filters, cell phone, etc. in it. I'm gonna do this when I go to Whitsunday Islands in a week. Would love to get more NG bags in the future! This particular bag or series is a little bit pricey though.
