Comments about Dot Line DLC 47" Camera Slider:

The screw on the mounting plate is smaller than the average sized tripod head, so the slider comes with a 'thread adapter' to make the screw larger. Within three days of using this product, and with very little use, the thread adapter snapped off inside my tripod head. Half remained on the mounting plate. This made it impossible to mount my tripod head back on the legs and impossible to mount anything on the slider.

Customer service advised that I find a local repair shop to fix my tripod head; I am currently in the process of returning the slider.

In addition to the product breaking, I received a used slider when I ordered it new. There were deep circular scuffs on the top of the plate that indicated someone had mounted a tripod head on it previously.

The slide function on this was poor. When any tension was added, the slide was not at all smooth and would catch at multiple points, making it near impossible to get a consistent slide.

Comments about Dot Line DLC 47" Camera Slider:

This slider comes with a thread adapter as the screw on the plate is smaller than a standard tripod head. Within 3 days, half of the adapter broke off on the slider screw and the other half is stuck inside my tripod head. I am returning the slider to b&h. As far as my tripod head, customer service recommended that I find a local repair shop or contact the manufacturer.

Also, I ordered this product new and the one I received was clearly used. The plate had dark scuffs (top and bottom) from a previous tripod head being used.

Comments about Dot Line DLC 47" Camera Slider:

I had it out of the box an unpacked for less than 15-20 minutes and as I was doing my first test filming I noticed it hanging up at one end of the slide. I looked at it closely and had already somehow scratched one of the rails. I don't recall banging the camera or anything on it. SO BE WARNED, this is soft aluminum and you'll want to handle with care! I hope to be able to steel wool it back to smooth flowing. Such a small scratch it only impedes flow with the weight of my camera on it.Haven't tried mounting to my Manfrotto tripod yet, but accompanying screw doesn't look right to me. Like the effect it provides for film though! Very pro feeling.

Comments about Dot Line DLC 47" Camera Slider:

We're a São Paulo's film producer and we've been in touch with almost every kind of slider available in the market. We've chosen the DLC mainly for two reasons: length and price. As for the length, we had a nice surprise, it is quite long. As for the price, it is exactly as they say "there's no free lunch": the construction is very simple and it required some tuning in order to work properly. We needed to put some grease (regular kitchen oil) in the rails so it traveled more smoothly and even tough it makes some noise. The greatest con we found is that it comes with no case or bag and the DLC doesn't offer any solution to be purchased along.

However, the overall impression is that it is a good asset, and once you get the hang of it, it's really worth the investment.

Btw, we've bought it with a HM18 Davis Sanford fluid head, which made a very nice combination.

Comments about Dot Line DLC 47" Camera Slider:

I specifically asked the agent if you tilt the slider slightly - 45 degree angle, would the sliding piece slide down by itself smoothly and he said yes. After I got the product, it barely did that.
It is good enough for the price and definately longer than expected for my need. If I can go back, I'd by a 23" of a different one with roller barings (I even asked the agent that I would buy a more expensive one if that meant it was smoother than this one, and he still advised me to go with this one in terms of smoothness of slider).
I can say that the sales agent deceived me for this product and when contacted bhphotovideo customer stupport for missing/wrong parts, they didn't offer to help me first, instead they wanted me to go after the company who made the product and do my own trouble shooting with them.
If I buy the product from your store, YOU should be responsible for these things FRST, not the company who made them. Also YOU should be offering the support to look after the missing/wrong parts since I contacted and bought it form you, not me.

Comments about Dot Line DLC 47" Camera Slider:

I needed an inexpensive solution to shoot the occasional slow pan so bought this product. Works just fine and meets my expectations with one exception. For scenes when I need a lot of quietness, I notice a slight humming sound generated from the friction on the tracks. Otherwise, it does what I expected.
