For a camera that does it all, and makes it look easy, it's hard to beat Nikon's Coolpix L810 Digital Camera (Red). You get a high resolution 16.1MP sensor, a sharp Nikon 26x zoom lens that will carry you from a very wide-angle 22.5mm all the way to ultra telephoto 585mm (equivalent in 35mm format)--there's really no type of photography (landscape, portraits, parties, travel, wildlife, sports, etc.) that isn't possible with this range. And with optical image stabilization and sensitivity up to 1600 ISO, you'll get sharp pictures every time, even in low light or using the longest telephoto setting.
Of course, 1280 x 720 HD video is included, with stereo sound--all you need to do is touch one button and you're shooting beautiful video without making any adjustments. A bright, high-resolution (921K dots) 3" LCD display helps you capture and view great images under any lighting conditions.
Other great features include modes that automatically detect and photograph a smile, warn you when your subject blinks, and correct redeye automatically. 19 Scene modes adjust the camera settings for different common photo situations.

The Quality of the pictures was unexpected. The detail captured was amazing, and closeups? Outstanding. The camera is super easy to use. I wanted professional quality photos but I did not want a complacted camera. I took photography for two years, but my main interest is video, I need photos for many projects so wanted to point and shoot but with professional quality, this was an excellent deal.

Where's the view finder?
Although the camera is pretty easy to use I miss the view finder. I have never liked using the screen to take the pictures, I like it just to view them.
Although the camera is pretty easy to use I miss the view finder. I have never liked using the screen to take the pictures, I like it just to view them.
Also I find it has a hard time focusing so if you want to take pictures of your kid playing soccer (for example) be ready to get awful pictures or have it never take the picture at all because it never focused. I started turning off all the auto features and I think it might work better that way.

Comments about Coolpix L810 Digital Camera (Red):
I mainly use this camera for pics of my 2 young children. 1/2 of the pics come out blurry due to the kids movement. I have tried adjusting the ISO but then the photos seems to be grainy. I am still playing with the setting but so far am not in love with the camera. I do like the back lighting setting and the night portrait setting. This camera does not take good photos in low lighting. The am also disappointed in the sports setting with the continuous photo feature-the photos also seem to come out grainy or blurry. I would not recommend this camera to anyone. Very disappointed.

Good build quality in this class of camera, and plenty of useful features. But in the end it is image quality that counts. And this camera really does deliver great photos. Supposed to be for my wife but I seem to be using it a lot.

I used to take amazing pictures. Then digital came along and I was a single mom & couldn't afford a good digital camera. The slow shutter speed of the cheaper models made me lose my passion. This camera was my Christmas present and I've filled up a card already! Easily switch between video and still, fast shutter speed, great natural light pictures. Excellent value/camera!!!

I would like to say that this is the best camera I ever had. I love it because is easy to use and without using the manual I could figure out how to use it. The Quality of the pictures are remarkable I used it for my work Christmas Dinner and it took great Pics. The Body of the camera gives you the look and feel of a SLR Camera but it is much lighter. The zoom is wonderful and it focuses really good in full zoom giving the same quality pictures as if you was not in zoom. There is a lot of scene/modes and they actually work. The size of the LCD is so big it makes viewing your pics so easy even for people who sight problems. The only thing I have to get accustom to is the pressing half way to focus and then pressing again to take pics but I will get it eventally.

I have not used my new camera very much yet but it is just a matter of time before I start snapping. Nikon is a great product with more features than I need now but they will be available when I do need them. For the price, it is a real steal and I have replaced two more expensive cameras and only carry the Nikon when we go out. I have several cameras some that cost more than a thousand dollars. They do not compare with ease of operation and high quality photos. Thanks Nikon for making photography easy.

I love this little camera. I do not want to spend a lot of money for a camera, nor do I want one that I have to do a lot to before I take a picture. the zoom is plenty for me too. I got the red one because we have a lot of parties and everyone has a camera, nearly all of them are black and I can tell mine from the others. my last camera was also a coolpix(and red)but it was smaller and did not have much zoom. I am very happy with my purchase.
