This is a great little mounting unit which works really well with my Canon M-50 Video camera. I use my camera a lot at our regional Bible Youth Events. I do get some great shots, but using two hands to hold the camera as steady as you can and working the zoom and such, can be a bit tricky. But mount the video camera onto the mounting unit and boy, what a defference. The handle has a nice soft non slip grip that allows you to securely hold on to the the mounting unit with one hand. You can move around with ease and get great shots from down low to high up with out the excess shaking you would get if you did this totally free handed. The shoe on top holds my external fill in light securely up off of the camera. Gives me more room around the camera with my other hand when I need to access the cameras other features. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out how to use this unit. Anyone can. Simply mount the camera on the bracket, it has many postions for you to choose, and a fill light, if desired, and away you go!

The balance is good & I like option of all the different mounting locations. I did have to add one thin washer on the thumb screw for GoPro cams. My Hero 3 mounting hole is more shallow than my other cameras .
