The PowerShot ELPH 320 HS Digital Camera (Black) from Canon allows you to capture and share your photos and videos immediately, without having to go home or plug into a computer. Shooting large 16.1 megapixel resolution images using the 35mm equivalent of a 24-120mm lens, it also employs advanced image stabilization technologies and techniques to ensure your HD videos aren't shaky and your photos aren't blurry. This allows you to capture clearer, truer images without unwanted blur or camera shake.

With its 16.1 megapixel image sensor this little camera is still able to capture poster-sized images at a maximum 4608 x 3456 resolution. This gives you the flexibility to enlarge or crop your image for printing or sharing online. The DIGIC 5 Image Processor powers all of the camera's advanced systems and features - ensuring you get fast, reliable performance with low battery consumption.

In addition to the speed of shooting, Intelligent IS uses multiple stabilization techniques to deliver sharper and clearer images to your camera and memory card. Using multiple types of image stabilization, the camera selects the best and most appropriate method to capture your photo or video without any distracting camera shake.

This PowerShot also doubles as a Full HD 1080p camcorder that fits in your pocket. Capture more than a snapshot of your memories by recording all of them in outstanding Full HD quality. With the video capabilities, as well as the dozens of photography features, it is a feature-packed camera that likely takes up same amount of space as your cell phone.

Once you've captured your photos and videos you can share them immediately using any 802.11 b/g/n wireless network connection. Simply connect the camera to the network, choose your photos, and send them to any social networking site or email address that you would like.

16.1MP CMOS Sensor
Capture minute details in the snow and the textures of a coral reef with the camera's 16.1 megapixel resolution imaging sensor, making your images rich and clear even out to the long end of the optical zoom. Having a high resolution 1/2.3" CMOS sensor is ideal when you plan to create large prints, and also provides the flexibility to blow up and crop sections of an image when you wish to alter the composition.
24-120mm Equivalent Lens with 5x Optical & 4x Digital Zoom
Just because it's a small camera doesn't mean it has to have a tiny lens. This PowerShot camera is built with a Canon 5x Optical Zoom Lens, and a 4x digital zoom. The optical zoom starts as a 24mm wide-angle and can extend to its maximum 120mm telephoto zoom, when converted to their respective 35mm equivalents. This covers a wide and highly useful range of focal lengths that are great for landscape, interior, portrait, wildlife, group or event photographs.
3.2" Rear LCD Screen with Touch Shutter
As large as some DSLR screens, the camera has a bright 3.2" touch panel LCD that not only provides a larger, clearer screen but also the ability to shoot images by touch. Canon's Touch Shutter technology allows you to release the shutter by holding your finger over the subject you want in focus, and then lift your finger to snap the photo. If you touch the desired subject on the screen an AF box will appear and follow them in the frame. Having a larger screen also helps you compose images better, and provides a wealth of important information about the shot as you capture it via the crisp 461,000 dot color user interface.
Pure Color System LCD
Many LCD screens have used a striped arrangement of dots that works great for text and menus, but is not ideal for images. The PureColor System LCD uses a delta arrangement of dots, which works better for the organic nature of photos and videos, allowing you to review your images with exceptional clarity with rich, true-to-life color. The PureColor System LCD is also ultra-durable to withstand heavy use in all sorts of conditions. Just as importantly, it offers clarity you won't find elsewhere. Outdoors in sunlight, color is faithfully reproduced, while a high contrast ratio ensures that you'll see exactly what you're shooting from any viewing angle. This makes it easy to frame shots quickly in tight situations.
DIGIC 5 Image Processor
This PowerShot camera houses Canon's DIGIC 5 Image Processor to power its advanced systems and features. This ensures fast and reliable performance without sacrificing battery life. Features such as high-speed continuous shooting, Full HD video capture and Blink Detection are all made possible thanks to its fast processing speed and efficient design.
Canon HS System
Beautiful low-light shots are possible with minimal noise and maximum detail in highlights and shadows. This HS system is the result of two technologies brought together in PowerShot cameras: a high-sensitivity imaging sensor to capture more light, and a DIGIC Image Processor to reduce noise and processing time. The CMOS sensor incorporates advanced light reception technology that enhances sensitivity. The DIGIC 5 Image Processor provides a major boost in noise reduction, expanding the usable ISO range beyond other PowerShots previously released. The Canon HS System takes the frustration out of low-light shooting, delivering clear, blur-free images.
Intelligent IS Stabilization System
Going beyond Canon's Optical Image Stabilization technology in the lens, Intelligent IS detects and implements the most appropriate camera shake correction methods for any given shooting situation. When shooting still photographs the system automatically selects between Normal, Panning, Macro (Hybrid) and Tripod image stabilization modes. During HD video capture it automatically chooses among Dynamic, Powered, Macro and Tripod IS modes. Using Intelligent IS you can concentrate on your images and let the camera worry about the most effective IS settings, giving you clearer photos and videos as a result.
Full HD 1080p Video Recording
What's better than capturing brand new home movies of your family? Doing it with an HD camera that fits in your pocket! Shoot Full HD 1080p video anytime, anywhere right from the little digital camera. No longer limited to still images, with a simple push of the dedicated movie button you can record every moment in motion.
100 - 3200 ISO Sensitivity
With a range of sensitivities, it can shoot anywhere from a bright sunny day at the beach, to a dark room lit only by birthday candles - and anywhere in between. Choose ISO 100 when the sun is shining and there is plenty of light around your subject. This will allow you to have sharper and clearer images, with less noise due to the low ISO. When shooting at night or in areas of low light you can quickly turn the ISO up to 3200 and keep shooting despite the lack of ambient light.
Smart AUTO Scenes and Selections
Any photographer can appreciate a camera that removes some of the hassles of capturing beautiful images - especially one that is so compact. This digital camera features Smart AUTO: a sophisticated Canon technology that help to make great shots as simple as pressing the shutter button. It will automatically analyze scenes by assessing various factors in both the background and the subject. These scenes are compared using dozens of predefined shooting situations and the camera then makes the optimal adjustments to ensure the best possible image capture when shooting still images. Smart AUTO also incorporates Advanced Subject Detection, which allows the camera to detect and track non-human moving subjects like animals and vehicles. With Smart AUTO, all you'll have to do is aim your shot and let it do the rest.
Face ID, Blink- and Motion-Detection
Face ID gives you an easy way to improve every shot of the people you love and photograph often. Photograph up to 12 faces you would like the camera to remember, then enter their names and ages. Once a person is registered, the camera will pick them out of a group (even against a busy background) and adjust focus and exposure to their face - even when shot to the side in profile. Face ID is particularly great for shots of babies and children. The system can pick your baby out of a group of children, focus on your baby when pictured with an adult, and capture their best smile by taking three successive images once a smile is detected. The flash is even disabled so as not to startle the baby and interrupt the moment. Blink, Motion and Subject Detection also works for those you don't register but merely shoot their photograph. You'll always have the focus right where you want it with these advanced technologies.
High-Speed Burst Mode
With 5.2 frames per second, you'll definitely be able to capture the game-winning catch, or the flight of a bird as it takes off. This high speed mode catches the action as it happens, and doesn't miss a thing. Normally it would be over in a blink before you got a single shot off, but thanks to the speed of this camera you won't miss at thing.
Super Slow Motion Movie Mode
The Super Slow Motion Movie mode records video clips at a very high speed so that when the clips are played at normal speed (30 fps), the action is dramatically slower. It records 640x480 pixels at 120fps and 320x420 pixels at 240fps.
Built-In Wi-Fi Sharing
Select PowerShot cameras feature built-in Wi-Fi wireless technology that makes sharing your images and HD videos with friends or family both fast and easy. Compatible with wireless 802.11 b/g/n standards, the camera can connect with any compatible home, office or public networks. Canon even provides an online service that lets you store images to an online album, called CANON iMAGE GATEWAY, to help share your images on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. Upload images virtually anywhere, via your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch mobile devices using the free Canon CameraWindow app that makes it easy to select and save images stored on your iOS device and upload them to social networking sites, or emails. Even without a mobile device, it is possible to send images to a PC, or even transfer images between other Wi-Fi enabled PowerShot cameras.
Movie Digest
Capturing trips and special occasions with a high-quality video "highlight reel" is as easy as switching on the Movie Digest feature. When activated, the feature automatically records the four seconds before each photo you capture as a separate video, then auto-edits them together into a short movie. Played back together, the video clips capture the mood and ambiance of a special day in a way that's completely different from still images. The video is captured in 720p high definition so that it looks smooth and beautifully detailed when played back on your HDTV. With bundled software ImageBrowser EX, you can easily delete any scenes you don't want.

It is smaller than my Droid cell phone and is definitely a shirt pocket camera. I never leave homewithout it. The 24mm lens is very useful. I am not a big fan of touch screens but can live with it.The 16 megs mathes the sensor. I have some excellent DSLRs, but they are not always with me due to size and weight. You might surprised at how useful having a camera with you can be, even for mundane tasks such as photographing books in a bookstore to see whether I can get a better price at @. Or when you see a restored vintage car in a parking lot. Or snapping a menu i a restaurant. It is close to perfect in the applications I use it for. I also own the Elph 310 whichhas nore zoom, 28-224mm, also a great shirt pocket camera.

Power Shot 320 is a very slim body camera. You can put it in your pant pocket. It has a big touch screen LCD, but it just too slow and you have to press hard. I feel camera use cheap material, it does not have the strong build structure feel. It is a good price for a 16.1MP camera and has a lot good features. I love Canon products. I had a 50D and 7D before and now I'm using 5D Mark II for party and special, also just order a S100 for $350 to replace my 320HS. Look forward to play with my S100 cause I heard it's good for low light and in door.

Comments about PowerShot ELPH 320 HS Digital Camera (Black):

I just wanted a very small pocket camera, as I was getting tired of lugging my Canon DSLR and lenses everywhere. I was surprised how well the photos came out, and the prints are far better than I expected. Too bad they discontinued this camera, because it is a gem. My only regret was that I bought it about 10 days too early, and missed the Canon blow-out sale.

Comments about PowerShot ELPH 320 HS Digital Camera (Black):

The camera takes amazing pictures, coupled with its size and multitude of features, it is a great camera to own.

On the other hand the touch screen makes it difficult at times to quickly adjust your settings and sometimes getting into menus takes some finessing.
Also the video is lacking the quality that comes from it isn't the greatest and it lacks versatility.

Comments about PowerShot ELPH 320 HS Digital Camera (Black):

Takes great pictures, the burst mode is great for taking pictures of kids.

The touchscreen takes some getting used to (it's not as responsive as an iPad or Samsung Galaxy) and the wifi feature is easy to set up on the iPad and Galaxy but took some time to set it up with a laptop.

The transfer rate is pretty slow with wifi but it's good for viewing pictures on a larger screen and for transferring a few pictures. For transferring more than I few pictures I still remove the card and put it in a reader.

I researched several before choosing this model. I like that it offers a f2.7 lens and good low light shooting and the price is perfect. Nice crisp shots too. It has very good options and the 1080p video looks very nice. It's not as fast as most DSLR cameras but that's to be expected. wifi is pretty cool too.

My primary camera is Lumix G5 + SLR Magic Noktor 50/0.95, which is heavy even dough smaller then the the DSLRs. After a research I decided to buy Canon ELPH 320. It has a wide 24 mm lens and in everyday means replaces my Lumix 7-14/4 lens. ELPH is very small and solid build. It's interface is simple and useful. Picture quality is good enough.

BAD: The touch screen needs a rough and precise touch.

Time to get the ELPH 320 HS after dropping the old one (SD800IS) on a stone floor.
This thing is great! It has a new feature that focusses on a little square that you can move on the screen by hand. Don't be discouraged by the instruction manual of over 100 pages. You don'1 need them immediately.
I also took some videos, and they came out great and can last a long time before running out of power or space on the chip.
I carry this small size unobserved on my travels to other countries!

Comments about PowerShot ELPH 320 HS Digital Camera (Black):

It's not a bad product. If I had the choice "maybe" for recommending to another person, I would choose "maybe". But I don't think I'd say "no", so I said "yes" I would recommend, because there wasn't a "maybe" option. The good (not in order):* Lightweight* High quality pictures* High Quality Video (Full HD)* Attractive looking* WiFi!!!* Face detect; autofocus; touch to focus (neat!)* Takes good night pictures.* Nice and quick shutter speed.* Still looks overall fancy and high quality, so at least your friends think you have an amazing camera (you kind of do).* HDMI (although I never use it)The bad (SHORT VERSION):* Larger than 300HS* Poor touch screen* Feels cheap and plasticky and somewhat slippery* Low battery life* Bad Wifi software almost rendering the Wifi utterly useless. The bad (LONG VERSION):* Larger (thicker, longer, wider) than previous version (300HS) - although not by too much, but definitely noticeable.* Instead of a capacitive touch screen, they went with a resistive touch screen. If you don't know, Resistive is the type you have to physically press on the screen; whereas Capacitive is the kind that the lightest touch is all that's needed. Galaxy S3 and iPhone have a capacitive touch screen. However, those cheap throwaway touch screen phones that cost like $29.99 (or free), they have resistive touch screens, like this camera. Due to this, it is a very poor quality touch screen and a bad experience. I would have paid an extra $20 or $30 for a capacitive touch screen and the better experience.* Compared to the very high quality casing on the 300HS (NOT THIS ONE) (actually was my favorite thing about the 300HS!), on the 320HS (THIS ONE) it is a flat plastic that attracts fingerprints and feels very cheap. I feel like if I dropped it, it would shatter or break to pieces. I feel like I have to defend this with my life or lose it. (Fortunately I did get the square trade warranty - else it would be a huge risk!) Whereas the 300HS had a solid, textured feel, which was lightweight but felt like metal or something solid with a real nice texture that was both attractive and improved grip; well on this 320HS it's really cheap-plasticky feeling and a little slippery. This was a HUGE bummer for me :( If you don't have a case I recommend to get one, else this will probably get all scratched up very easily. I'm using the same case from my 300HS, so at least I didn't have to buy a case. Without a case, it's a significant risk of getting the camera all scratched up, not only the screen but all over the plastic body of the camera also.* The Canon WiFi software is pretty terrible. I could connect it to my android tablet but it's not very good software; it doesn't provide the needed usability. Worse, I can't even get it to connect to my computer wirelessly (I'm basically an expert with computers and networking - if you know nothing about that, then you're going to find it basically impossible to connect it to PC); and even when plugged in the software Canon provided to manage the pictures and phone is pretty terrible. Very disappointed with this. Despite having Wifi, still the best way to transfer pictures is through taking out the SD card and plugging the SD card into your PC. Not happy about this.CONCLUSION:Would I recommend this? Maybe. I'm sad that my 300HS was destroyed and I don't think I'm really any happier overall with the 320HS. There are positives with the 320HS (this one), over the previous model (300HS); but the detriments (downsides) of the 320HS (this one) even out or outweigh the positives. It's the reason why this one is now cheaper than the previous model of 300HS. If they were the same price I would probably choose the 300HS over the 320HS if I had to choose again. Due to the downsides of the 320HS, I would not say it's a "great" camera. I would, however, say that the PREVIOUS model (300HS) was a great camera, but not this one. That said, it's still a good camera, especially for the price point (I got a really good deal). For being able to shoot HD video and very high quality pictures; and all the upsides, especially if you didn't previously have the 300HS, then this is a pretty good camera. It looks nice and sleek too. Your friends also might envy you too. However if you do buy this I recommend to get one of those cheap $1 to $3 capacitive stylus from [*] or somewhere (yes this is resistive but for this, really the capacitive stylus - the one with the rounded rubber end - is better for this phone). Trust me it's worth it especially when you're trying to type in the network id and password (I don't have fat fingers - my fingers are normal size yet it's hard to type on this poor quality touchscreen). I also recommend to get a decent or nice padded case to protect it from scratches since the body is a cheap plastic and it's a cheap touchscreen. Might be worth it to get the squaretrade warranty too because I'm worried if you drop it this camera might not hold up well because it's kind of cheaply made when compared to 300HS. I bet just one drop on cement or maybe even wood from arm height and it's done for. So be careful! However, if you already have a 300HS, I would say this is not worth the upgrade. In fact, I would say, it's not an upgrade, and almost a downgrade. So keep your 300HS if you already have one. But if you want to save money (300HS is a lot more expensive at the moment than this one), then this one is a pretty good deal for the current price. But if you don't have the 300HS already, then you need to choose whether you want to spend less for more features but less benefits; or if you want to pay more for 300HS for less features but better quality camera. If by the time you read this they are the same price then choose the 300HS instead.

I am a point and shoot photographer, I don't like to mess with the settings but I do like to set up my shot and get something good. This camera is so user friendly, I love the touch screen controls, especially being able to touch where I want it to focus and having that point be followed and metered to. Great macro pictures. So far, no complaints. I have never been a great photographer, but this is super easy to use for me and the pics look great. Lots of cool effects, love the toy camera effect and love the low-light hand held setting. Battery life could be a little better. But it's a great price

This is a great camera that is easy to use. I got this one for the wife to have have as a point and shoot camera so she could always have one with her so she can be ready to capture what the kids are doing. She says it is very east to use and has a very large LCD display to see even in the bright outdoors.
