Can not beat the price with a lot to offer and functionality. Fluid and I love the quick auto level lock. This is just awesome and I intend to buy this again for my other tripod.

        Comments about Vanguard BBH-200 Ballhead:

Very happy with this well built ball head. One small detail, I had to remove the safety pin on the head as there is not a release button on it to allow an arca plate to slide off easily, so it gets hung up.

          Comments about Vanguard BBH-200 Ballhead:

The separate pan lock is common enough but that doesn't make it any less awesome.

I really like the lever lock for the ball itself. It's quick, easy, and very secure.

The Rapid Level System is okay...it works fine but I don't see myself ever using it. It levels the ball to the base but if you need it to be level, first the base has to be level.

Being Arca compatible is a huge bonus. Thumbs up to Vanguard for this one.

            Comments about Vanguard BBH-200 Ballhead:

The head has very good build quality. Feels very solid. No dip noticed once locked off. The auto centering centers the head to your tripod so if your tripod legs are not level the auto centering will not be level. There is a little bit of movement once the auto centering is engaged before you lock it off but it makes centering the head much faster and easier. I have mine mounted on a 3 legged thing Eric and the combo works great together.

              Comments about Vanguard BBH-200 Ballhead:

Just purchased this BBH-200 Vantuard ballhead. Never had a ballhead or even used one before, so there's a learning curve. Had always used a three way pan head. Only problem with those I ever run into is when one of the arms gets in the way of looking thru the viewfinder, but that doesn't often happen.Had heard all these wonderful things about ballhead all these years. Now I'm wondering what all the fuss is?There's one major problem I haven't figured out: one generally holds and adjusts the camera with the right hand. The release for the ball head also requires one's right hand. Since I only have one right hand it's very awkward to position the camera. What am I not understanding? As the unit itself, I think it's nicely designed and probably well built. One thing I wonder about is dust. I'm am outside quite a bit and dust is going to be falling on the surface of the exposed ball. This will then work its way into the mechanism, will it not? I'm anticipating problems down the road.

                    Comments about Vanguard BBH-200 Ballhead:

I've owned and used ballheads from Kirk, Giottos, Manfrotto, and Gitzo. This one is comparable in quality to the best, is lighter weight, and adds some nice innovative features. The oversized knobs are convenient without getting in the way, and the leveling feature is a great new innovative feature, which eliminates the need for other leveling equipment when shooting panos or simply when you want to easily level your rig without hassle. At first I was concerned about the lightness of the head, thinking it wasn't heavy-duty enough. I'm glad to learn that it is definitely a solid piece of equipment. I use it with my Vanguard Alta Pro 264AT tripod, which is equally nice.

                    Comments about Vanguard BBH-200 Ballhead:

I love this ballhead because it levels the camera when the switch is pushed to the right. It is also great for a heavy lens and camera and works excellent in that case. Love how the head locks in also.

I HAVE A COOUPLE OF OTHER TRIPOD HEADS BUT THE BBH 200 IS SO MUCH LIGHER AND STILL WORKS FINE WITH MY 500MM LENS WITH A 1.4 EXTENDER AND MY 300 MM LENS WITH A 2X EXTENDER. iT'S ;IGHTER BUT STILL HOLDS THE LENS STILL FOR LONG EXOPOSURES.

                        Comments about Vanguard BBH-200 Ballhead:

This ballhead is as sturdy as you need for any DX camera and up to 300mm lens combo. I don't think it would have a problem with a bigger setup, but that's as big as mine gets so I can't say how it would perform. The fine adjustment isn't too great, mostly this is just unlock, move camera, and then lock it down. My dad has a RRS ballhead that is worlds apart from this, but at over double the price. So buy this ballhead, you won't be disappointed for the [$]
