The Elmo MO-1 Visual Presenter Black is an on-the-go, mobile document camera, about the size of an envelope and very lightweight -- it can easily be carried inside a jacket pocket or small handbag. It features a 5 megapixel, full HD video camera that produces true and vivid color reproduction, and it's very simple to operate. Offering local and web communication ability, a software packed with useful and effective presentation tools, and almost instant integration with projectors and displays, the MO-1 is a productive presentation companion for educators and business professionals.
The core of the MO-1 is the 300° movable camera head. It serves as a video camera, a webcam, and a photo camera/scanner. It has a zoomable lens that lets you focus in on parts of a scene or magnify details of a document (from as close as 2.7 inches away).
A built-in microphone lets you use the webcam function to conduct online meetings. Connected to a computer, any images captured with the photo camera/scanner function can be saved to an SD card. Connected to a projector or HDTV, you can apply a bunch of enhancements to the images. These enhancements are applicable from the software that comes included. Some of them are split-screen, highlight, mask, picture-in-picture, color filters, and annotations. The MO-1 can also optionally connect to an Elmo CRA-1 wireless tablet with which you can deliver your presentations wirelessly from as far as 50 feet away as you walk around the room. The software's enhancement features are also applicable from the tablet.
The MO-1 comes with an AC adapter but can alternatively get its power by simple USB connection to a computer.

Comments about Elmo MO-1 Visual Presenter Black:
This thing is well worth the money. At least compared to other products. I needed a good quality portable document camera and was not let down. It works great connected to my computer as well as a Polycom HDX 9004.

Comments about Elmo MO-1 Visual Presenter Black:
We bought this to use at conventions so everyone could watch our architect sketch in front of everyone... It works great hooked to our normal meeting projector.

Comments about Elmo MO-1 Visual Presenter Black:
I was looking for a couple doc cams that could travel with us. I came across this and was intrigued. Because of the price, I decided I didn't have much to lose. This has very good quality, and running through the VGA is perfect. I was very impressed with the compact size, and the quality of the image. I don't think most people have very high expectations for a document camera anymore, but i couldn't imagine spending more on one of the larger / standard models.

Comments about Elmo MO-1 Visual Presenter Black:
The price, picture quality, and portablitiy are top notch. This is my second MO-1 the later models have screw in locks for the VGA port wich earlier MO-1's lacked.

Comments about Elmo MO-1 Visual Presenter Black:
Hopefully Elmo MO-1 is a step up in quality from classroom overhead projector and transparencies. Most of the same advantages, e.g. looking out at the students and live writing. Added benefit of capturing any paper or textbook material without making a transparency, and even showing 3D objects. Bonus of easily zooming in. Confidence factor of seeing the image on my desktop screen exactly as it is projected behind me. In the past had observed expensive large Elmo tabletop models used in college distance learning classrooms. This model's price, compactness and portability made it a feasible option for HS classroom. I can juggle multiple pieces of paper with headings, formulas, reference info, problems and solutions to dynamically create composite images on the projector. Built-in LED light compensates for dimming the room lights. VGA female connectors for VGA in and out is inconvenient requiring male-to-male cable, but probably better since no possibility of bent or broken pins on the unit. Students are enthusiastic about having a high-resolution zoomable all-direction-pointable live camera in the classroom, e.g. seeing how they look :)
