I like the ball head of this tripod, it is easy to remove and adjust with good location of the adjustment knobs. What I'm not impressed with is the quality of the legs and locking levers. They are not heavy duty and the legs seem flimsy. On the first 10 times that I used it, I was unimpressed with the locking mechanism for the height of the legs and noticed some slippage. For the price of the unit, its quality isn't bad, but I will definitely buy a different brand after this one wears out.

Comments about Vanguard Abeo 323AB Tripod With Ballhead:

Although heavier than some, it is really sturdy and secure. The included ballhead is very easy to adjust and holds tight to whatever adjustment one wants. I trust it implicitly to safely hold my cameras and stay where I want it.

Comments about Vanguard Abeo 323AB Tripod With Ballhead:

The tripod is solid, which is the most important thing in my opinion when it comes to tripods. It is capable of getting your camera in a myriad of angles and locations. The ballhead action is smooth.

In a perfect world the tripod would be lighter. I personally am fine with the trade off of a bit more weight for a sturdy tripod, but I'm a pretty big guy who doesn't mind a few extra pounds on their shoulder during a hike.

If I could change one thing, it would be to include a quick release plate. I find it a bit strange that I need to carry a quarter around with me when I'm using the tripod to ensure I have the plate firmly affixed to the camera.

I wanted sturdy and this sure is, even fully extended. I wanted height and this extends further then I believe I will ever need, and I'm 6' tall. Its great if you don't have a flip screen and want to take pictures of the sky.

Comments about Vanguard Abeo 323AB Tripod With Ballhead:

This thing is a tank. i do a lot of beach photography and this tripod handles all kind of terrain that put a lot of lateral force and twist on it without any kind of flex or stability issues. I use it on sand , rocks and salt water. I have yet to experience any kind instability or flex. Perfect for long exposures ..i would but it again. Great build quality.
PS always buy a tripod that is rated for a lot more weight then you think. It will be stable and you can grow into it and never need to buy another tripod.
