The SteadyWeb String Tripod from GFK Products, LLC provides increased stability when using any device that can be mounted to a traditional tripod, such as cameras, camcorders, spotting scopes, rangefinders and binoculars. Simply clip SteadyWeb onto your belt loop, or any stable anchor point. Then, unlock the line and screw the bolt into the tripod mount threads, then lock line in place at a desired length, pull the line taut and begin shooting.
With the inclusion of long optical and digital zoom lenses, as well as HD video in most cameras, it has become difficult to hold a camera steady--even with image stabilization. It is also inconvenient to carry a cumbersome tripod at all times in order to counter these situations. This String Tripod does not need to be opened up and placed on the floor, so you can also use the SteadyWeb in places traditional tripods are prohibited, including museums and many public venues.
The SteadyWeb is an inexpensive and simple device that fits in almost any pocket or camera bag, and helps stabilize cameras in a variety of different situations, including shooting over crowds, panning video, or handshake in low-light conditions.

Comments about Steady Web SteadyWeb String Tripod:
This string tripod really works! I use it when hiking since there is no way I can carry a big tripod. It is very quick to use and very light. It is also effective. I can take pictures in low light that I otherwise wouldn't get. I am so pleased with it, this is actually the second one I bought so I could keep it in my backpack.

Comments about Steady Web SteadyWeb String Tripod:
I have given this two stars as I think the concept is great but the design is a let down. I took this out with me to a motorcross event and was using it out on the track to catch the action. At first as I crouched down I found the lock would come loose and just when I need my stabilisation the most the tension would release and I would be on my own to freeze the action. After about an hour of use the cord simply snapped from the metal screw attachment below the camera. I am a woman and I am not very strong at all so that is simply unacceptable.

Comments about Steady Web SteadyWeb String Tripod:
I've used it once at a videography gig. It worked pretty well, but my usual method of attaching a collapsable tripod to add weight to the camera kept the video steadier than using the string tripod.
Would be good for venues where using a tripod as a weight is totally impossible.

Comments about Steady Web SteadyWeb String Tripod:
I use this for hiking. I am already carry the maximum of weight I can handle, but still do not want to limit the pictures I can take. This String Tripod works great! It steadies the camera just enough that I can take many low light photos that I couldn't take without it. It connects to the camera very quickly. I keep it connect to my belt loop. I hardly know it is there.

Comments about Steady Web SteadyWeb String Tripod:
Well done, good product that exploits simple physics principle but useless with stabilised lens. I tested it with IS on and off and there is no difference when IS is on, I would even say that IS is a it better.

Comments about Steady Web SteadyWeb String Tripod:
Great to use with a DSLR to steady your hand-held shots on the fly,
especially for over-head shots. The device is simple and literally takes up no space and can be kept in your pocket.
