Sit back and enjoy exclusive screenings of your movie collection with the SD5300 DVD Player from Toshiba. With video upconversion up to 1080p resolution and progressive scan capability, you can enjoy near-HD imaging from your old standby DVDs. Just connect it to your HDTV with and HDMI cable, and get your popcorn ready.
By using HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface), you'll also reduce clutter in your living room. This interconnect allows for transmission of pure digital video and multi-channel sound to compatible home theater equipment and HDTVs. Since it won't scale down or compress the signal, it provides exceptional sound and picture quality.
On the technical side, the SD5300 is quite the multi-talented entertainer; it provides playback for both factory-pressed and burned DVDs including dual-layer, and CD, CD-R, CD-RW discs. Additionally it's compatible with Video CD, Super Video CD discs. You also might have some DVDs or CDs with MP3 or JPEG files on them; no worries there.
This disc player is compatible with Dolby Digital and DTS audio formats, and features 3D Virtual Surround Sound so you can get the full theater-like experience while watching your movies. Playback conveniences include digital picture zoom, fast scan, slow motion, and multiple selections for camera angles, languages and subtitles.
Moreover, the SD5300 will settle right into your entertainment setup. It has a slim chassis and stylish black front panel with silver accents, while its display complements most TVs on the market. Of course, you'll also receive a handy remote for comfortable control from a distance.

Comments about Toshiba SD5300 DVD Player:
First time buying a DVD player that upconverts. Our old DVD player died during our convention and I went out looking for a modest priced DVD player to play some trailer loops. For the price (and size), this DVD player was great.
We'll using this model for all our convention trips.

Played a few DVD's I got this one because of the frame by frame aspect, which seems good.
