BD Live content requires internet service and a SD card with at least 1 GB of free space(sold separately).
The show must go on -- in your living room, of course. The DMP-BDT220 Blu-ray Disc Player from Panasonic is a full-featured entertainer, and in addition to playback for 3D Blu-ray discs includes networked features to turn your space into a virtual hub for multimedia content.
Once you connect it to your home network, you can stream movies and TV shows from Netflix, create personalized Internet radio stations with Pandora, or check the local weather using Accuweather. These are just a few of the supported services. With built-in Wi-Fi capability, you can connect directly without needing to purchase an external adapter.
With Adaptive Chroma Processing, exceptional imagery is ensured. It can even convert 2D content from VIERA Connect to 3D. Additional benefits include smartphone remote control capability, support for FLAC files, compatibility with other DLNA devices, and ultra-fast booting and loading. For unmatched performance and features, look no further than the DMP-BD220.

We recently purchased a new Panasonic Viera 55" plasma TV. I already had a Sony BluRay player which I received as a gift from my parents. It was descent, but wanted to get something that wasn't so dependent on the remote that came with it. As a father of three kids, my remote tends to get mis-placed often. We received the Panasonic BDT-220, hook up was simple. I was very suprised to see it detect the TV and auto-adjust the settings based on the TV. The Android Viera app is a little cumbersome, but works as expected. The picture quality is fantastic, disks play almost immediately. We couldn't be happier with it.

I replaced a failing LG BD390 with the BDT220. It plays Blu-rays fine but stutters badly when playing moderately high bit rate videos from my Windows Home Server video share. On my gigabit network I can only sustain about 8Mbps with the BDT220. My WDTV Live and my LG BD390 have no problem on this same network with 20Mbps videos. I called Panasonic and the support person asked "What do you mean by stuttering?". I was promised a call back which never came.

Comments about Panasonic DMP-BDT220 Blu-ray Disc Player:
This unit was purchased to replace a standard DVD player as we recently started to acquire blue-ray content. Unit loaded very quickly and the picture/sound were reproduced exceptionally well. Although the remote is probably not its strongest feature, I found it to be serviceable. A great addition to our home theater and a can't miss, particularly at this price point.

Comments about Panasonic DMP-BDT220 Blu-ray Disc Player:
Used both for playing BluRay disks & for watching streaming video. This the second player I've owned, the firth was a Samsung. This Panisonic is much faster & has more apps. Very good good video reproduction. The Samsung often had to be reconnected to the network whereas the Panisonic was connected @ setup and has been good ever since.I would strongly recommend this Blu-Ray player.

Easy to use with plenty of features to take you into this next technological generation of integrating TV with 3D and wifi/download/youtube/etc. this is a great sleekly designed device for all your needs.
Good user interface (for a non-Apple product!) and reliable functions. Firmware is also updated through wifi which will keep this product up to date with the latest technology/updates.
Good all-around device; the best on the market today.

Comments about Panasonic DMP-BDT220 Blu-ray Disc Player:
Having bought the updated Panasonic camera for my VT50, I didn't know it wouldn't work. Instead of returning the camera, I decided to buy this player since it would work with my camera. I was hesitant at first but now, I really am happy I did! The Netflix on it is super quick and the other apps are just as impressive. The fact that it can read your video files on your home network, is also a big deal.
Sice I bought it, there has been 3 updates already so Panasonic is keeping it fresh so to speak.
The 2D-3D conversion is nothing more than adding depth to the display but having said that, it is fun to watch certain YouTube videos in 3D. Anything that you wish to view that is in 2D, can be watched in deep 3D except Skype.
One thing about Netflix, if your ISP supports the SuperHD connection, this machine will enable you to get it along with the 5.1 surround sound.
All in all, for the price, that is a nice little machine.
