Like its predecessors, this latest Wacom tablet makes photo and graphics work flow so much more efficiently with the pressure sensitive pen. The small footprint of this tablet doesn't take up much desk space, but still allows great detail work when you are zoomed in to a high magnification. Five stars as a pressure sensitive editing device.
The customizable Express Key, Touch Ring, and Radial Menu are all valuable, but in my opinion are definitely secondary in terms of functionality. Yes, they can give you added convenience, but most users of this tablet know Photoshop keyboard shortcuts like the back of their hand. Even though I set up all the features for what seemed like their best uses, I still find myself reverting to the keyboard since it's just as fast, and is already second nature.
The customizable Touch Gestures are a nice addition, though they are somewhat more "jaggy" than you may be accustomed to with an iPad, regardless of how you set the parameters in System Preferences. Occasionally the touch gestures will crash either Photoshop and/or Bridge. Hopefully a driver update will fix that somewhere down the road. You also need to be careful not to confuse the tablet by holding the pen in your hand while you try to execute touch gestures. If the pen is close enough to interact with the tablet while you are tapping with your fingers, you will get unpredictable results. Three stars as a touch device.
Overall, great product, with useful features far outweighing the minor disappointments.

I work a lot with professional image processing and object recoginition s/w. I hoped the pen tablet gives me mor accuracy in my s/w, but it turned out that I am actually slower than with the mouse.Using the tablet for other purposes and as a complete mouse replacement doesn't work either. Office program or browsers do not benefit from the pen. The touch function are neat but I hated those things on laptops and will not get used to it. Main problem is that you cannot drag and drop with the touch functions without pressing and addition button.I tried it also in Lightroom and found it useful, but not faster or better than the mouse. My last hope of keeping it was to use it as handriting tool. It works fine and recognise most of my words, but again it is not faster than typewriting. That being said I had to return it, but I am pretty sure it is a great tool for people who actualy draw with it - just don't expect replacing your mouse with it. As for the quality and accuracy of the h/w, I can say it is an amazing product. You can position the pen on the pixel and the look and feel is great. Too sad it didn't work for me, I really wanted to keep it, but I guess I don't use the right applications with it.It is a drawing tool after all.

Comments about Wacom Intuos5 Small Pen & Touch Tablet:
Purchased mainly to use with CS6 and Adobe Camera Raw (ACR). Works great with CS6, however, in ACR there is a lag between pen movement and slider adjustments (~16 units moved before slider reacts). I've created a workaround in ACR by customizing the touch ring to act as up and down arrows to allow fine slider adjustments. I can live with the ACR workaround thus rating 3 stars. If ACR worked flawlessly I would have given 5 stars.
Comments I've seen online point to problems between Intuous and Windows 8, hoping for MS or Wacom to update soon.

Comments about Wacom Intuos5 Small Pen & Touch Tablet:
My wrist was bothering me a lot after using a mouse for years. I tried the small Intuos 5 pad and don't seem to have much wrist trouble anymore. It's accurate and easy to learn. It isn't really designed for web surfing in a browser so that's a little annoying. I like the full programability of all the buttons. The small is just the right size to sit next to me when I'm using the laptop on the sofa. Works great with Photo Mechanic and Lightroom 4

Comments about Wacom Intuos5 Small Pen & Touch Tablet:
The Intuos 5 is a bit more sensitive and has more sensitivity layers than the 4. I have a medium 4 and a Cintiq but find the Intuos small more than adequate and it is dead on accurate.

I use the Wacom Intuos 5 (small)in the processing and finishing of my photography. The size and weight of the tablet is perfect and fits perfectly in my laptop bag with room to spare. The feel and accuracy of a pen is such an improvement over a computer mouse. I recommend adding this product to your setup as it has helped cut down on my photo processing time. Don't wait pick one up now.

It works for exactly what I purchased it for...photo editing. It's a bit strange to get used to at first and I'm still setting up the custom functions but once done, it will speed up workflow.

Comments about Wacom Intuos5 Small Pen & Touch Tablet:
I absolutely love this tablet. I've used a couple before while in school but this one is by far the best. When I started using it I wasn't very familiar with how to work a tablet but it is amazingly easy to handle and figure out. It comes with a pen and a pen holder. Also in the package are a bunch of pen tips so that you'll never damage the active area on your tablet. This tablet include an active area and is much like using a mouse from a computer compared to other tablets where the corners are synced to the corners of the monitor. If you are looking to buy a tablet to work with, I definitely recommend this one.

Comments about Wacom Intuos5 Small Pen & Touch Tablet:
I never worked with any tablet devices before now but had become quite frustrated with trying to use a mouse to do acurrate photo editing.
After watching many videos on the Wacom site and elsewhere I knew it was the right tool for what I wanted to do.
I bought the small Wacom Tablet after reading many reviews regarding it and the medium sized. I opted for the small because the price difference between it and the medium was significant.
I was also hoping that getting past the learning curve on a small would be easier. After using this small tablet for several weeks I'm convinced that a medium for me would have required too much hand movement.
Even though the pen buttons are still a challenge I've put the mouse away for good and won't use it for photo editing any more.
If you're still using a mouse for your editing needs you should seriously consider trying one of these.

I use this as a general purpose touch tablet, replacing my apple mouse and use it with the pen for digital photo editing in Lightroom and Photoshop. The controls are easy to use and customizable to each program. While I often keep it tethered via USB, I wish the wireless battery would last longer than 6 hours.

I use this for editing photos in Lightroom 4 and Photoshop CS6 while on the go. I pair it with a 15 inch MacBook Pro. The size is really great and the feel and sensitivity is perfect for what I do. The only gripe I have is the lack of built in wireless, especially for something that I use exclusivley with a laptop that only has two USB ports. Other than that I couldn't be happier with it.

Comments about Wacom Intuos5 Small Pen & Touch Tablet:
I am a serious amateur, hopefully to start my own photography business this year. I was told this product was a must to help with post production. It has certainly helped me get better in PS. I was also told it is hard to get used to so practice by playing Solitaire. I did and it helped! I didn't have that difficult of a time getting used to editing with it. I was a little disappointed with the instruction options. I know this is a digital world, but I'm still old school and like a printed instruction manual as well. Yes, I could print it myself, but for the money why don't they just include a small one with the product. Overall I'm very happy with the tablet! Of course B&H is a joy to purchase from! Quick and competent!

I bought the tablet to use in photshop-
Like photoshop there is a huge learning curve.
Wacom has videos on their website that help you get started off on the right foot.
First- It is not yet- but will be a time saver once I have re-trained my brain. (2 years using Photoshop with the mouse and shortcut keys formed instinctive habits and workflows)
Second- the best feature for me would be the way the pressure sensitive tablet works with "opacity"
Third- everything is adjustable so you can keep on fine tuning the pen and tablet to work like you want to.
Size- I'm happy with the small- so far no regrets over this choice.

Comments about Wacom Intuos5 Small Pen & Touch Tablet:
I use Intuos5 primarily to work in Lightroom 4, and also in Photoshop and NIK software.
As a left-hander that uses a mouse right handed, this has been a huge find for me. Dodging, burning, and masking accurately was a challenge because I was doing it with my off hand. With the pen and tablet, it puts the control back into my left hand. I love it.
As others have cautioned, it does take a little bit of use before you can fully adapt. The fine control of painting on a mask, I got quickly. While adjusting the sliders is easier with the tablet too, I am still getting used to the fact that you don't 'mouse the cursor' over. The tablet maps to the screen, so if you want to select something in the upper left hand corner of the screen, move the pen to the upper left hand corner of the tablet.
Packaging, construction, and set up were all as they should be for a top of the line input device. The device has a high quality feel and set up was true plug-n-play.
I was on the fence for a while with this purchasing decision, I only wish I would have bought earlier.

Small is a good size for me, working with Lightroom and Photoshop on photos. Overall size is appx 8 1/4" x 12 1/2" to get a working area of appx. 6" x 4". Could probably get same results with my old Intuos2 medium size tablet. Intuos5 just makes the task easier and is more convenient to use and transport with my laptop.

Comments about Wacom Intuos5 Small Pen & Touch Tablet:
Had a less expensive tablet by the same manufacturer and I must say the the difference is quite amazing. For the most part this feels like an extension of my hand. There are some sensitivity issues that usually means the tablet surface needs cleaning but it does sometimes have a mind of its own. The surface area is just right for me and the pen works fairly well. I have also been having a problem with the drivers as they seem disappear for no apparent reason. That could be my computer, but it is worrisome and I never had this problem with the cheaper unit. On the whole it is a vast improvement over it's less expensive predessor. If you are in the market for a graphics tablet it is worth the extra money.
Now includes Full Screen Playback. And works on iPad, iPhone 4 (Earlier iPhones not supported) iTunes and Apple TV!
