I own two models of Samsung active glasses: SSG-4100GB (that you can buy at less than half price than the other) and the SSG-3550CR. Therefore, I had the opportunity to compare both models.
In terms of image quality, I didn't find any difference. The image is great with both models and the «light darkening effect» is identical. So if you buy higher priced model expecting to get a better image quality you will be disappointed.
I've not used my glasses for long so I can't speak about the advantages SSG-3550CRZA that has rechargeable a battery over the SSG-4100GB.
In terms of overall quality, the SSG-3550CRZA construction is far better than the SSG-4100GB, looks greater, stronger but is also heavier. I find that the SSG-4100GB is really well suited for kids since it fits better on small heads than SSG-3550CRZA. I personally feel more comfortable with theSSG-4100GB so these appear to me more polyvalent.
In conclusion i'd say to choose the SSG-3550 over the SSG-4100GB if it is to be used only by adults and that the look is important to you.
