Product Highlights
  • Planetarium Interface
  • iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch Compatible
  • Designed for SkyQ Application
  • For Computerized Celestron Telescopes
  • SkyTour Program

The SkyQ Link Wifi Adapter from Celestron enhances the SkyQ smartphone app from Celestron by activating a wireless control feature for most computerized Celestron telescopes. In addition to enabling wireless functions, the SkyQ Link adapter will allow you to automatically slew the scope toward an object with a simple tap of the screen in the application's planetarium interface. A SkyTour feature generates a list of the most popular stars, galaxies, and nebulas based on a user-defined time and location.

Directly connect or wirelessly connect the SkyQ iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch to computerized Celestron telescopes for instantaneous celestial alignment and a unique stargazing experience.
SkyQ's planetarium interface makes aligning your telescope with celestial bodies as simple as tapping the screen of your WiFi enabled device. A program within the SkyQ software will generate a list of stars, galaxies, and nebulae to view based on a user-defined period.

Comments about Celestron SkyQ Link WiFi Adapter:

I bought this for use with my Celestron CPC GPS 800. Yes, a great concept. Unfortunately Celestron sells a [$] IPad app for it that does not work. They know it does not work and are doing nothing to fix it apparently. There is no reason to buy the SkyQ adaptor without the working app. I am sorry I bought a Celestron telescope at all because of this, what a shame!

Comments about Celestron SkyQ Link WiFi Adapter:

I have owned the SkyQ since July of 2013. While it is a great concept, it simply does not work with the software Celestron provides (direction buttons do not respond when in alignment mode). Celestron is aware of the problem and has been working on it without success. After so long a time period, my patience and optimism are wearing thin. Another problem with the device is that the diagonal on my Nexstar 8SE will crush the device when it is close to the 12 o'clock position. This may not be a problem with smaller scopes or other mounts. On the positive side, I love the concept of the SkyQ and I love that it is powered through the AUX port rather than by batteries. I only hope that Celestron can fix the device and software sometime in my lifetime. For others, I suggest looking at other wireless devices. The SkyQ is not out of beta testing yet.

Comments about Celestron SkyQ Link WiFi Adapter:

Bought it to use with Nexstar 114GT. Serial connector does not fit the connector on hand control. Plug it directly into the mount. Very easy to get it connected to the skyQ app but could not get the app to talk to the telescope. Confirmed with Celestron that this model of scope is not supported. Also had problem with the skyQ app. The sky view is upside down in compass mode. Also a number of map functions have not been implemented.
