The Sunwayfoto DMP-200 Multi-Purpose Rail Nodal Slide is compatible with all Arca-Swiss-style quick-release plates and is commonly used with a variety of traditional 135/120 SLR film cameras and digital SLR cameras. It can also accurately take the lens axis as the nodal point when used in panoramic photography. In close-up photography, the DMP-200 allows a large-scale back/front shifting adjustment, which can reduce time spent moving the tripod.

I bought this along with Sunwayfoto's DDH-03 panning clamp. As with the DDH-03, the build quality is very good. The pair work well to provide a rigid mount for the camera.So far I've only used it with my D700 and Nikor 16-35 mm lens. Note that a shorter rail would not put the entrance pupil (nodal point) over the pivot point of the clamp. I expect it will also work fine with my Nikor 24-85 mm lens.I'm using it with an RRS L-bracket and an Arca-Swiss ballhead with quick release clamp.

Price: A tad on the expensive side
Quality: On par with other high end manufacturers (such as Acratech). I like the laser cut numbers for reference, and the fit and finish is high quality. It does its intended job well (parallax correction for panos). And has more flexability than the higher end (and more pricy) units. I have used this unit to mount two slr's for stereoscopic photography too(need to buy another quick release mount to do this). A good purchase if your into panoramas and like to get creative.

I purchased the nodal rail to use for panoramic photography and found it to work well for this purpose. It fits my RRS L-bracket mount just fine and holds my heaviest lenses without issue. Rail is well marked for easy adjustment/calibration. Fit and finish is excellent.
