Comments about Sunwayfoto DPG-3016 Stereography Rail:

Despite being made in China, this is an excellent piece of equipment and the price is right. It can be used for stereo photos, nodal rail, or a macro rail. Probaably other uses too. All that is needed are some clamps. The rail comes with several screws, alignment pins, and tools to install their clamps. Since it is double dovetail, the subtend and bi-directional clamps work well and can be positioned any where on the rail.

Comments about Sunwayfoto DPG-3016 Stereography Rail:

Before buying this product I did an extensive research on the nodal slide for panoramic photo. What I have determined is that the nodal slides have some limitations:(1) You can't change the direction of the clamp.(2) You can't adjust the distance frome the clamp to the front end of the slide. This was very important to me as I want to use one slide will all of my lenses including the WA ones. This product was being advertised as a multi-purpose rail, and it doesn't have the clamp on it, but basically a nodal slide is a rail with a clamp one one end, IMHO. So, I purchased this one with a bidirectional clamp from the same manufacturer (DDB-53), and they perfectly serve my need. I can see that this product is very solid and precise. It came with some extra components, including two safety stop screws, but I think they should have included four of them, so I can put them on each side of each end. You definitely need four screws if you want to feel perfectly safe from dropping your camera on it.

Comments about Sunwayfoto DPG-3016 Stereography Rail:

This is the first Sunwayfoto product I've purchased. Solid, precise; smooth finish. I've just ordered some additional 'SWP' pieces that actually have some moving parts to them; I'm looking forward to seeing what they're like. Based on this one piece, I'm optimistic.
