I use this to download photos from Nikon D800 to MacBook Pro. As you may know, D800 has CF and SD card, and CF card does not show on Mac when you connect Nikon to Mac with the cable, although Adobe Bridge opens and show the files. When you need to eject the card, you have to just plug it out, not eject as Mac's normal way of putting the card icon to Trash. I did not like it, worried about damaging the contents. So I asked for Apple Genius Bar help, who tried to figure out whether it's becasue of the version of my Photoshop (CS5), or OS X (10.6.8). He tried with his OS X 10.8 first, and then with his Photoshop CS6. No icon of SD card on the screen either way. He then used Moshi. This solved my issue. And that made me decide to buy one for myself. I like the size, the extra USB extension cable, and most of all, the fact that I do not worry any longer about possible damage on the contents of the card by just swtching off the camera without plugging out the card in the proper way of Apple computer. I like this.

I use this for high speed data transfer of digital video and so far it's been perfect for what I need. With a crazy amount of different card ports to work with, it's a very handy, reliable AND portable little device. Perfect for on-the-go projects. All for $ , it's perfect for me. So far no complaints!

Comments about Moshi Cardette Ultra Advanced Card Reader With USB Hub:
I use this as my portable card reader. It's perfect, no long detachable (lose-able) cords. The small short cord it does have, tucks into itself nicely and stores into a sliding cover.. It reads all the cards I need (SD, CF,) and more. I'm thinking of getting another one.

Comments about Moshi Cardette Ultra Advanced Card Reader With USB Hub:
I've been using and traveling extensively with this device for well over 2 years now. Unlike many cheaper alternatives, this one is entirely mac compatible and is reasonably speedy. On occasion, I've forgotten to take it on a trip and have purchased a few cheaper substitutes - none of which worked as well, or had compatiblity issues. You appear to get what you pay for.
In contrast to some of the concerns listed here, I've treated it very roughly (backpacks, etc) and it's held up quite well. However, the short integral cable experiences some torque when extended and twisted with use. It is showing some signs of wear. For what it's worth, I'm buying a second one.

Comments about Moshi Cardette Ultra Advanced Card Reader With USB Hub:
I bought this card reader on a whim. Since I didn't do any research on it what so ever, I wasn't sure how well it was going to work. However, I was wonderfully surprised when it was faster than any other card reader I had used. It is well designed and looks great next to my iMac and MacBook. The only downside is that it feels cheap, it could have a better build quality.

Comments about Moshi Cardette Ultra Advanced Card Reader With USB Hub:
This USB 2 card reader works well, with SD and CF cards fitting firmly and securely in the slots and images getting copied over quickly. The shape/design of the unit is sleek, with the top sliding to reveal a short USB cord that remains tucked away otherwise. Unfortunately, the sliding mechanism has a lot of wiggle and feels cheaply made. That, and the relative expense are the 2 downsides of this otherwise nice unit.

Comments about Moshi Cardette Ultra Advanced Card Reader With USB Hub:
I had been using an old single card reader for a few years and it work just fine. I then got the Cardette Ultra and found out just how bad the old one was. My raw files now load at less than a second each, quite a step up from 10to 15 seconds each. With a full 32 gb card this is the difference of hours. I am very pleased and would recommend to anyone who likes form and function.
