The mica Photo Traveler 150 Backpack from Lowepro is a moderately priced backpack that holds more than its weight in gear. It's rated to hold a compact DSLR such as a Canon T3i with an 18-200 lens attached as well as 2-3 additional small lenses such as a 70-300mm f/3.5-5.6 and 50mm f/1.8 plus a flash and some accessories. Or, if you prefer a compact  or mirrorless system, it will accommodate that plus up to 3 small lenses. There's also a dedicated, padded pocket for your iPad.

The exterior of the bag is made from a durable 600D Oxford Polyester PU (polyurethane) combined with nylon mesh. The inside is also polyester, rated at 200D. The combination of both produces a very lightweight pack that is great for day trips.

The interior of the bag contains padded, movable dividers that allow you to configure the bag to suit your equipment needs. The exterior front has a quick-access zippered pocket for small stuff like keys, wallet or cell phone. In addition, the bag contains Lowepro's SlipLock attachment loops that accept optional pouches. The side mesh airline pocket is perfect for holding a small or table top tripod.

The Photo Traveler 150 is carried by its padded, adjustable and contoured shoulder straps. The backpad, like the shoulder straps, is also padded for maximum comfort. It also has a quick-grab top handle for rapid retrieval from your car or closet.

For anyone who needs small, lightweight and extremely manageable photo backpack, this one is hard to beat - especially since it comes from Lowepro - a company with a reputation for designing the ultimate in outdoor bags. It's backed by their lifetime warranty.

After ordering & returning 2 other larger and heavier bags I decided to give this one a go. Turns out to be the right bag for the purpose of casual travel photography. Amazingly low price for the high quality! I can store my largest Canon 7D with 24-105 lens attached along with a second shorter lens (Canon 10-22)and a Metz 58 AF-1 or smaller flash AND my smallest Canon G15 in the main compartment. Both cameras fit at the same time which is a good option in case of inclement weather. There are sufficient secondary storage compartments accessible from inside & outside the bag for batteries, cards, cords, paper tablets & pencils, a small manual and other small items such as a phone, wallet, keys or water bottle. The advertised internal pocket for an electronic tablet is handy but not usable for a tablet with the tight fit of the 7D and attached lens inside. With a small compact DSLR it might be very usable. The Lowepro site has a nice feature to evaluate what type of bag is recommended for any chosen gear. This one was on the list for my equipment. However there appears to be only one configuration possible with the larger 7D+24-105, flash & second smaller lens which is somewhat limiting for me but I can always go to my bigger Lowepro bag if necessary. With smaller or less equipment the layout options in the Travelor 150 increase significantly offering possibilities for a small packed lunch - always a necessity! The padding & material components are more than trustworthy & I feel very confident that my equipment will be safe from damage unless I do something stupid of course;). The sturdy adjustable straps seem to be more than sufficient for offering comfort through long distances on foot but I haven't had the opportunity to give that a good test yet. Over all I would not hesitate in the least to recommend this excellent bag to anyone after consideration is given to the size and amount of equipment intended to carry.

As a camera bag, it makes a great lunchbox. It's sturdy and the padding is dense and think. The main issue that I personally had was that, try as I might, I could NOT get the dividers into a configuration that worked for my specific gear. I wanted to include my DSLR with lens and hood attached, plus a full-sized flash, plus either my detachable battery grip, or at least some spare batteries and charger. The way the velcro is situated on both the dividers and the limited way it exists on the walls and floor made it impossible to create the shapes I needed. I ended up removing them all and just piling stuff into the open space. It's good that the price was low, because I won't use it for long.

I use this bag to carry a Sony A57 with attached Sigma 18-250mm lens,@ chargers, 18-50 mm lense. This is a great little back for a novice like myself.
Only 1 improvement would be chest straps to keep the shoulder harness's from slipping off when hiking. I use a n adjustable strap looped into the shoulder strap rings and it works great.
Small bag but Huge on performance

I have two of these little backpacks, one for a Canon XA10 video outfit, and the other for a Nikon 1 series outfit. There's plenty of space for these modest outfits. The bag's small size is a good thing for me as I'm getting older and don't want to carry a 30 pound pack too much anymore.

The Lowepro 150 backpack is an excellent bag and a real bargain.

I have another back pack that is about 4 times as big that holds nearly all my gear. This one is great for one day hikes with a limited amount of accessories. Hiking could be in the wild for some landscape photos, or the Texas State Fair for people photos. Most of the time I do not realize that it is hanging on my back.

I like that it's small. The main compartment quickly gets full when a medium to large zoom lens is kept attached to the camera body. Basically it will hold a DSLR plus two long lenses and a small lens, or a bunch of small lenses. Flash and accessories fit into other pockets which are flat and wide. Overall it's very neat. Good quality. Seems durable and has very good padding, dividers and straps.

This would work well for someone with a smaller DSLR and two lenses. I purchased it for a D7100 with a 16-85 and an additional 70-300 FX VR lens. The lens is a little larger so the bag didn't work for me. If you are interested in this bag, place what you want to carry on a 8 X 10 piece of paper which is close to the interior dimensions. [Note; If you watch the LowePro demo be aware the person carrying the bag is a VERY tiny human.] I wish this was available in a slightly larger bag. [I will probably order a Flipside Sport 10L.] B&H made the return VERY easy!

This was an impulse buy. I was looking for some foam inserts to build a custom holder for my backpack. This one turned out to be not that much more expensive than the inserts, and was actually small enough to fit inside my daypack anyways. It's just the right size for a day shoot. It carries my flash, macro flash, 4 medium lenses and 1 small lens, plus a number of filters, batteries, and my battery grip with room to spare.

This bag is very compact and lightweight (0.6kg). I like that, because I don't want a bag to add too much extra weight (I love the Crumpler Light Delight series) and I don't like walking around and bumping in to everything with a huge bag on my back. The handles fold up nicely and the rectangular shape of this bag make it easy to stow it away in a small space (like an airplane baggage compartment) or underneath a chair. Despite its small size this Traveller can hold a lot of stuff. I.e. a DSLR with 50mm prime lens, another compact lens, a bigger telephoto or wide-angle zoom lens, an iPad and some smaller accessories. I think this is a perfect alternative for a shoulder bag. Carrying all this stuff in a shoulder bag can get very painful after a while. I do miss a rain cover, but a third party rain cover (Dakine) does the job reasonably well.

This is a nicely constructed bag. It carries my D300 with an 18-300mm lens attached, a 10-24mm lens, a small pair of binoculars, filter, and a few flat items in the outside zippered compartments. It is not deep enough to carry the battery pack attached, but you can store it separatley. There is no reasonable way to attach any tripod other than a small one.

Perfect little backpack for a quick morning hike. I usually have my camera with one lens around my neck, so there is ample room for my 100mm macro lens in case I see that perfect wildflower, a light rain-jacket and even a small lunch. Keeps everything nicely in place and sits comfortably high on my back which I like. Pocket for water bottle on one side and a loop for my travel tripod on the other.

When I ordered this bag,I did so from positive reviews. However, the reasonable price concerned me, because this was from LowePro..not a low-quality brand.Of course, with great service,I had the bag in just a couple of days.I must say,I was just a little surprised at the size of the bag...really small.Yet,room for my bridge camera,a waterproof point and shoot,a Metz flash,flash-bracket,camera flash cord, flash gels,Stofen omni bounce,Demb flash diffuser, and a Sekonic light meter.Wow! was I wrong about the size! Plus, the quality is typical for a LowePro product.Would I recommend it? You bet I would!!!

I purchased this bag for the purpose of travel, a bill which it seems to fit perfectly. Plenty of room for my 60D with Canon 10-22mm attached, 50mm, 18-135mm, lens hoods for all, extra filters, Nikon point and shoot, remote shutter button, tablet, phone, keys, cleaning cloth/blower. It is low profile and well made. I have no complaints about this product except the lack of a tripod strap. A must buy for travelers, exceptional price for quality and value.

Being a ham radio operator, I sometimes take my low power equipment with me. For those that are in the know, I carry my Elecraft KX3 along with all of the needed items to set up portable. Since the Traveler 150 can also be used as a back pack to carry my equipment, I can now go for a nice motorcycle ride and take my equipment with me to operate. After seeing a YouTube video made by another ham radio operator using the same equipment I do, I just had to get this bag.

Comments about Lowepro Photo Traveler 150 Backpack (Mica):

I purchased this bag as a second backpack. I have the Lowepro Pro Runner 300 AW for occasions when I have to carry ALL my gear... which isn't too often so thats more of my "gear sits in this bag at home" bag. The photo traveler is my favorite camera bag purchase so far! I was shocked at how much fit in the bag. I probably push the limits as I like to squeeze as much as I possibly can in this bag. My normal set up for this bag (shown in the image below): Nikon D61080-200mm (or any long telephoto lens)12-24mm 50mm (fits any 2 standard size lens)Sekonic 308-S Light Meter Ruggard Memory Card CaseIn the two front pockets I usually carry either my large Moleskine planner or my original iPad, my passport, boarding passes and any other knick knacks I need (gum, wallet, remote shutter release, filters, pens). If I feel the need to carry another lens and don't want to go up in backpack size, I strap on a lowepro lens case to the side of the bag. This bag can actually accomodate 2 lens cases, adding up to a total carrying capacity of 5 (or more!) lenses. You wouldn't guess that for such a small bag. I call this the perfect weekend bag because I like to use it on weekend trips when I just take this bag and a carry on suitcase. Of course one downfall of this bag is that it doesn't fit a laptop but as always with camera bags its the "wanting to carry a laptop" vs. "not wanting to look like a turtle" ordeal. If I feel a terrible need for my laptop, I just stuff it in my suitcase. Another appeal to this bag for me is the color! Almost all camera bags are black so this neutral green/brown color was a nice change.
