The black AH-CP1 Hand Strap for the CoolPix P510 Camera from Nikon provides a firm alternative to your camera's standard shoulder or neck strap. By removing the original strap that comes with the camera and attaching the AH-CP1, you can hold your camera firmly in your hand and be ready for the shot. The system is easy to use. One end back buckles through one of the camera's strap lugs while the base plate screws into the camera's tripod socket with the included 1/4-20 screw.

A hand strap isn't an accessory for certain kinds of photography, especially if you work in situations where you only have one hand free and you have to catch shots that are just plain awkward if you grip your camera normally. It's necessary. As you'd expect from a company that uses and reuses the best of professional photographers' thinking, this strap is well designed and helps you do your job when using the CoopPix P510 as an adjunct camera when your main camera can't be used, especially when dealing with unpredictable wild animals with one hand and creating a photo journal with another. It's the necessary accessory.

The strap was specifically designed for a coolpix camera- I have a Nikon 5100. The salesperson in the store said that is strap is recommended for the5100 also. It easily installed and is perfect for gripping the camera vertically. The only complaint that I have is that, with very large hands (like I have) there is very little room for adjustment. Otherwise I would recommend it to anyone with aNikon 5100.
