The black 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub from SIIG allows you to add four SuperSpeed USB 3.0 ports to your Windows-based desktop or notebook computer. The hub is able to transfer data at up to 5 Gb/s and is well-suited for high-bandwidth SuperSpeed USB 3.0 devices like external hard disks, camcorders, digital video cameras, and more. Or if you have devices that are USB 2.0 or 1.1, it will be backward compatible with those, too. The hub has over-current protection for each port to keep your devices safe from power surges. It's hot swappable, so you can plug it in and disconnect it without turning your computer on or off.

Comments about SIIG 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub (Black):
I'm using this on a mac mini w/usb 3.0. I've had it about two weeks. So far, it's been fully functional. I use it all the time, swapping stuff as necessary. One cool feature I hadn't expected--it has a system of blue LEDs that show which ports are actually in use, like when you are transferring something, or sending something to your printer.
I've used the SIIG for downloading video footage, and it's been pretty quick. I couldn't tell you the actual speed, though.
The SIIG replaced an iogear hub that I had returned to B&H (don't go with iogear...)

Comments about SIIG 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub (Black):
I am only giving this 4 stars because of two reasons that I didn't know ahead of time.1. There is a new connector for the USB 3 on the hub itself. Apparently it is the equivalent to a USB mini on a regular hub. This annoys me that I don't have a bunch of these around. If I forget this cable - I am in serious trouble. 2. You have to use the power adapter. I wanted something bus powered -- but oh well.Other than that - it works as advertised.
