The Sony BDV-E390 5.1 Channel 3D Blu-ray Home Theater System is the ideal companion to your 3D television. It features a 1000W 5.1 channel surround sound speaker system and an HDMI repeater with 3D pass-through and HDMI standby pass-through. The system offers an HDMI output to deliver high-definition video and audio over a single cable. An audio return channel requires just one cable for TV audio. Watch Blu-ray 3D movies and standard Blu-ray disc movies in full HD 1080p or upscale standard DVDs to near HD quality. You can even upconvert 2D to 3D.
An iPod / iPhone dock lets you connect your device for play back of music, videos, and photos. Digital Cinema Audio Calibration provides quick speaker setup; while Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD enhanced audio codecs let you take advantage of high-quality movie soundtracks. The system also offers digital audio inputs.

this home theater system is awesome when i first set everything up i decided to use the input jacks on it just for my cd changer and it was pumpin after fine tuning the speaker settings for room size and space but it really works nice i would recommend anyone who is a music or movie fan to go out and buy it for it exceptional sound quality and its price although have not made it to watching a movie on it yet but if the picture is anything like the sound i don't think i will be dissapointed

I am using this player with an Epson 710HD projector. The picture is crystal clear and the sound is awesome. The wireless internet is easy to setup and the "preset" options on the menu (NetFlix, Youtube, etc.) are easy to access. The only negative I found was that the speakers are hard wired, so I needed to splice them in order to run the speaker wires in the walls.

I set it up with my new Bravia 55" works great. The best feature is the unit is automatic with HDMI or Coaxial cable when turned on/off the TV detects its presence and swicthes the sound from TV speakers to external speakers (BDV-E390) as always Sony is sthe best and B&H has it for the best price!
To my surprise being a smart device it also has a FM radio!

Bought this to match my recently purchased Sony 32" BRAVIA. Found out that the speaker wire length would not allow me to put the speakers where I wanted to, because the wire ends are sealed on the speaker end and the opposite end has a SONY proprietory end connection that plugs into the back of the unit, you can't splice a length of speaker wire to make longer. Contacted SONY support and they confirmed this. MEASURE the speaker location to where you are going to put the DVD player before buying this unit and make sure you have enough speaker wire. Packing it back up and returning it to the store tomorrow.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I have absolutely no complaints about this system. Everything is perfect about it. It does everything equally well whether its watching a movie, listening to music from the ipod, playing a game on my xbox 360, or just watching TV. It all sounds GREAT!

All the speakers on this are hardwired (wires come out of the speaker itself) so you will have to splice and dice in order utlize any pre-wiring in your house. I always worry that there will be signal loss with splicing (and we'd have to splice twice to use this system). Further we were disappointed that this has NO HDMI In connections so it is pretty painful to change from DVD back to TV modes. Lastly, we bought this thinking it would work for a large great room - sound is really good if you are sitting in the middle of the speaker arrangement, but does not from the other side of the room ... we are returning this for the E790 to address the rear speaker issue (might as well use wireless if we can't easily use our pre-wired system), the HDMI connections, and the front speakers having two-way on the 790.
