The black Digital Holster 30 V2.0 from Think Tank contains a unique "Pop Down" feature that allows the lens hood to be kept on the camera held in shooting position. For the active shooter, this is a real time-saver. The case is made to hold a regular-sized DSLR such as a Canon 5D Mark II, 7D or Nikon D700 with a 70-200mm f/2.8 with its hood either reversed or in shooting position.
This is a form-fitting case, somewhat reminiscent of a western holster - ready to draw and shoot at a moment's notice. The case comes with a side rail attachment that accepts a small Modular, Skin, or Multimedia component. This increases the footprint and capacity of the holster as well as your shooting capabilities. The holster comes with Think Tank's "Rotate or Lock" technology for their Pro Speed Belt, Thin Skin Belt or Steroid Speed Belt that permits you to attach the holster with no effort at all. There is also a smooth fabric on the belt to minimize friction against your body. One of the best features of the bag is that the lid opens away from your body. This enhances access to your gear as well as adding a significant security aspect to the bag since, when opened, the lid acts a shield preventing others from seeing what's inside. The removable shoulder strap and top grab handle are complemented by dual zippers that guard the access to the main compartment.
For accessories, a front stretch pocket can hold lens caps, batteries and other small items. Another touch fastened small accessory pocket is located under the top lid that is perfect for holding a filter. For ultimate protection of the delicate LCD screen on your DSLR, a soft divider fits over the top protecting it from the strap that may be stuffed inside.
There's nothing like networking so the bag comes with a neat business card holder right under the top grab handle. Finally, for maximum protection while outside, the bag comes with a built-in rain cover that is stored in an outside pocket and which can be easily deployed when the weather turns against you. The holster comes with Think Tank's lifetime warranty against manufacturer's defects.

I really like this bag. I use it for my D800 with a 24-70mm lens attached, and I can tuck a 50mm in with it, too. I got it because other bags were just too bulky for me while I'm out on a hike. This bag is sturdy and yet slim, allowing better mobility.

I bought this to carry my Canon 5D MKIII with my new Canon 70-200mm f2.8 lens attached. It fits perfectly, but there's NO room for much else - maybe an extra memory card. It would really be nice if you could carry an extra battery. I'd have given 5 stars for that.

I have my 7D and 70-200L f2.8 and 100-400L bolted on and both fit great in this holster with the hood on too.
Love all the extra pockets, Will definately be buying more ThinkTank products in the future!

I use the bag mainly for protecting my camera when I don't want to lug around a backpack and works great! Fits my D300s with either 24-70/F2.8 or even 70-200/F2.8 when extended.

I bought a Sigma 50-500 lens to go on my Pentax K7. It's a big lens but it fits in this case just fine (ideally rotate the lens mount). It fits even with the first lens extension in place and with the second extension clipped on backwards. The other pockets are small but good enough for spare battery and there is included rain cover.

It is a great product if you have a long lens, such as a 70-200mm or even a little longer. It could be totally waterproof, then it will be perfect

This isn't just for long lenses only. I found that using the divider I can place other smaller lesenses in the case and not carry more bags. This tank works great with either my D300s or my D700. Just remember, this isn't your old small camera case.

Probably a little larger than I need, but I'm hoping to upgrade to larger telephoto lenses in the future, so I'm future proofing with this purchase. With my current set of lenses, I can have a larger mounted on the camera and still have room in the pop-out section for a 50mm 1.4.

I have a great backpack that holds all my gear, but it's not very convenient for photographing events where I need to change lenses quickly. I bought this with the Change Up Belt Pack and it's a great combination to hold all the gear I need for an event. Holds a 5D Mkii with a 70-200 f/2.8 IS no problem.

Comments about Think Tank Photo Digital Holster 30 V2.0 (Black):
We have a Canon 7D with the 70-200 f/2.8 lens attached. The Digital Holster 30 was purchased to protect the camera/lens from rolling around on the floorboard of our car. The Holster does this well. The fit of the camera/lens is quite snug.
However, don't expect to get much else into the Holster. I couldn't find a place to store a filter in its case, for example.
