The black Retrospective 10 Shoulder Bag from Think Tank is a small, discreet and simple bag designed for the photographer who carries a small system like one pro DSLR with a standard zoom plus 1-3 lenses. Or, it can hold a pro DSLR and 2-4 lenses in the main compartment. The interior dividers are customizable to accommodate the gear you carry on any given day.

The large front flap covers the entire bag and prevents anyone from seeing what's inside. The hook & loop closure is unique with its Sound Silencer system that eliminate the tearing sound normally encountered when you open a camera bag. This is especially valuable when you are shooting in quiet venues like courts, wedding services or chess matches.

The inside of the bag contains an organizer pocket that is perfect for a note pad, mic, or small pack of tissues. Two collapsible nylon pockets are inside and are designed to hold a flash or other similar sized accessory.

Outside, an expandable pocket is large enough for a regular size DSLR body. The back of bag has a wide storage pocket that is made to hold collateral material like paperwork, maps or a note pad. Additional webbing loops are found outside to hold some small Modular, Skin or Multimedia pouches. Or, you can attach a carabiner to it for quick access items like keys. Two side pockets will hold small water bottles or even some small shoe-mount strobe lights. Under the main flap, you have a business card holder.

The carry handle is removable and the shoulder strap contains some non-slip material to keep the bag stable while moving. There's also a breathable cushioned pad along the strap to aid in positioning.

For complete protection, there's a neat rain cover that can be rapidly deployed when the weather turns sour. The cover has been configured to allow the handle and strap to extend but not interfere with the security of your gear. The Retrospective is backed by Think Tank's lifetime warranty against manufacturer's defects.

The exterior of each Retrospective shoulder bag is purposefully simple, allowing photographers to inconspicuously blend into their shooting environment
The "Sound Silencers" underneath the main flap eliminate the loud tearing sound hook-and-loop makes while opening the bag. Simply release the Sound Silencer panels and cover the hook-and-loop strips to prevent the hook-and-loop from contacting
A clear business card pocket, for identification and spare cards, is located under the main flap
Hook-and-loop panels securely fastens the main flap down keeping valuable photo equipment hidden from view
An organizer pocket is located inside the main compartment. It gives photographers enough space for small, but significant, accessories necessary for a successful shoot
All the dividers inside the bag are removable so the interior can be customized to any photographer's set of gear
Inside the main compartment are two collapsible nylon pockets (one on each side). These pockets are tall enough to fit most flash units or other accessories. A hook-and-loop strap can be used to secure the contents or it can be tucked into the pocket for quicker access
An expandable pocket on the front of the Retrospective can be used to carry a regular size DSLR body
A wide storage pocket is located on the back of the Retrospective. This pocket can be used to carry small maps, booklets or other paperwork
Removable carrying handle
A fully adjustable, canvas strap is integrated into the bag. For extra comfort, a breathable cushioned pad slides along the strap for optimum positioning. Sections of non-slip material on the pad helps keep the entire strap on your shoulder
Webbing loops on both sides of the Retrospective can be used to carry some small Modular, Skin or Multimedia pouches on the side of the bag. Alternatively, a carabiner (not included) can be used to quickly clip accessories to the sides of the bag as well
Side pockets on both sides can be used to carry smaller water bottles and will even fit some shoe-mounted strobe units
The included seam-sealed rain cover was specially designed to keep the carrying handle and integrated shoulder strap outside the rain cover without compromising protection from the elements

One pro size DSLR with standard zoom and 1-3 lenses in the main compartment
One pro DSLR and 2-4 lenses in the main compartment

Comments about Retrospective 10 Shoulder Bag (Pinestone Gray):

I love this bag to hold my mirror less camera gear. It holds everything I need but without being too big and bulky. The only complaint (and the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars) is that the bag is a bit heavy on it's own. It's well designed however and well made.

Comments about Retrospective 10 Shoulder Bag (Pinestone Gray):

I couldn't be happier with this bag. It looks great but isn't obviously a camera bag. It easily holds all I've thrown at it (typically a D300 with Tokina 11-16/2.8 plus 2-3 additional lenses, filters, extra batteries, etc). It has more well-thought-out pockets and storage than I had imagined. It's very well made and seems exceptionally durable. I imagine I will be using this for longer than most of the gear I currently have in it. The only things I would change are that I wish the shoulder pad was removable and that the pockets on the sides could hold a larger water bottle. The pad is grippy and comfortable, but I have found that sometimes I'd rather just have the strap instead of the large-ish pad.

Nice size for a bag that easily holds my D800 with grip and lens attached plus extra space to hold more lens and flash. Everyone says how well made it is and they are not lying.

Comments about Retrospective 10 Shoulder Bag (Pinestone Gray):

Use the retro 10 to carry my d7100 with 24-70 attached. A 12-24 wide angle and a 18-200 zoom in the main compartment of this bag. Plenty of room left for other flash, charger in main compartment also. With the other storage areas in this bag, unless you want to carry the entire kitchen sink of photography gear, then this is the bag for you.
Especially like the fact that it doesn't look and scream "I'm a camera bag--grab me"! It carries all that I am interested in carrying. If I use other lenses, I just swap them out and leave some at home. This bag is going to last me a long time and it is super comfortable to carry with the over padded shoulder strap. I have had other shoulder bags and this one wins hands down.

Comments about Retrospective 10 Shoulder Bag (Pinestone Gray):

The problem with most small to mid-size bags is that they cannot handle a pro DSLR with a battery grip and zoom attached at the same time. The Retrospective 10 solves this problem beautifully. I alternate using a 5DmkIII and 1V-HS with grip and 28-70 2.8. The Retro10 keeps my gear at a convenient, ready position without being too big, but still having plenty of room for flash, batteries, extra prime lens, and assorted other stuff.

I have a Nikon D5300 with an 18-200 lens on it and three other lenses. This bag comfortably fits them all in, with room left for battery, a couple of hoods and my iPad. I love the looks and feel of it! Its Retro style does not broadcast it as a photo bag. It has the best shoulder strap I've ever seen: wide, thick and strong as well as a moveable pad. It also has a detachable handle for carrying it if you don't want it on your shoulder; something I've found useful getting in and out of places.

I use a think tank urban disguise bag as a carry on for a lot of gear but it's clearly too big to use as a day pack. The retrospective 10 serves that purpose in grand fashion. It is relatively small and extremely comfortable on the shoulder. It holds a pro size body with standard zoom attached and 70-200 not mounted. Can also fit 16-35 f4, sb-910 flash and numerous accessories. Certainly all you need for a day shooting can be put into this pack. The material appears very durable and I love the color. Definitely doesn't look like your typical camera bag, which I guess is the point. Highly recommend!

This bag is awesome for keeping a low profile while traveling. In a city, it rarely stands out. Among tourists, you look like someone just hanging out. The shoulder strap is incredibly strong and thick. I think you could repel with it if needed. With no exterior badges, it doesn't stand out like a typical camera bag. Most camera bags attract far too much attention, even on a professional shoot. You are crazy not to consider this, even if you are an aspiring amateur.

I have no problem fitting all my gear into one bag now. I can get the job done very easily now. This bag allows me to carry two flashes, two camera bodies(with batt. grips), an 18-200mm, a 50mm, a 100mm macro and all my little bits have plenty of pocket space. Great bag, loving every thing about it! Only thing that could be wrong is not having a spot to hang a tripod. But that won't keep me from buying another one of these.

looks are very stealth. doesn't scream "cameras ahoy!" got the Pinestone because the black is more nylon looking.

Daily load my D700 w/ grip and 24-70 attached (with or w/o the hood), a 50mm, 85mm, and flash. lots of storage, but gets bulky as you put more stuff in. I leave the chargers home unless I know I'll be doing a lots of shooting....

My camera, D3x, is large and heavy to carry around all the time. This bag is sturdy enough and large enough, which allows me to carry all I need. This usually includes an extra lens, sometimes a flash, extra battery and odds and ends. I also love the fact that it really doesn't look like a camera bag.
                                        I highly recommend this bag...

Construction of this bag is amazing. I wish I had a bag this strong when i was in college to haul my load of books everywhere. Very well engineered and pockets are well placed. This was the smallest messenger bag I could find to comfortably handle a pro-size dslr.
Works well with my 17-40 on cam, 70-200f4 on the side and speedlite. Thats usually the most id carry with it.

Very well made, lightweight, well thought out bag. I can fit a 60D, a EF28-70f2.8L, EF70-200f4L, EFS10-22 and a filter pouch all in with a tiny bit of room to spare. And it's comfortable to carry with a large padded shoulder strap, and best of all, it looks nothing like a camera bag. Awesome.

I use this product with my 5DIII with grip and a 24-105 attached as my main set up. I will generally carry the 70-200 next to it or an 85mm. You can pack a flash snuggly on top if you choose. There are some small pockets on the inside where I keep my CF cards. There are also out pockets where I like to keep my filters, manuels, etc. Overall its a great bag!

this bag is great for a small 2-4 lens slr system . first , it doesn't look like a camera bag so you can be somewhat incognito . secondly , the thing is just about indestructable w/ a moderate amount of storage space . comes with a rain cover . my favorite feature is the adaptable ("sound silencer") velcro flap closure . the addition of a heavy duty snap on the main flap would make this bag perfect .

This bag is great. SWMBO uses it for a D7100 with 105 Macro, 18-200, and 35mm lenses. It also holds a flash with odds and ends. You can go light and have lots of space for other miscellaneous items and an extra DX body.

People think it's just a messenger bag. The strap is wonderfully padded and secure. The material feels heavy, but the whole effect is lightness.

As usual if you think this will just fit everything you need, go one size larger. You will use the extra space and it will be appreciated.

Think Tank bags are the best. I use this to carry a Nikon D600 with 24-70mm lens attacked, Nikon 70-20mm f/4 lens, Nikon 85mm lens and all the accessories needed for a days photo outing. I have the flash skin attached to carry my Nikon SB900 as well. Well made bag and easy to carry.

I use it when I am reporting on assignment. The big thing I was looking for in a bag was that it was quick and quiet to access my gear. This bag covers both requirements. The Retrospective allows for silencing the Velcro bag cover. And if you keep one or two bodies on you while shooting and two to three lens in the bag during an assignment, there is plenty of space and accessibility to switch equipment when needed.
