This harness takes the worries in carrying your camera and saves your neck and shoulders from wear and tear. By having the camera hang from the harness, your hands are free to carry other things or a walking stick for better balance.

Comments about Think Tank Photo Camera Support Straps V2.0 (Black):

When I first got the straps I looked at them and said, "That's it?" However, after using them on a five day backpacking trip in the High Sierras with a forty pound pack they worked perfectly. Before you buy, make sure you have a place on your pack where they can go and not slide down the back pack strap. My one fear with my GH4 was that with the 100 - 300 lens on it would bounce around too much. Turns out it wasn't a problem at all. Certainly not a problem with my 12 - 35 lens. Sometimes a simple idea and a simple concept is all you need to make it work. Highly recommended for those who shoot with a backpack.

Comments about Think Tank Photo Camera Support Straps V2.0 (Black):

I am an avid hiker/backpacker and have always struggled with having my camera handy while hiking. Having it around my neck is awful. I use trekking poles so both hands are occupied while I'm moving, plus I can't use a cross-body kind of camera strap/sling or the poles would bump it constantly, plus it's nearly impossible to find a sling system that's also compatible with wearing a big backpack. So the camera would go into the pack and I ended up just not taking photos during the hike because it was so darn annoying to take the big pack off and get the camera out of it... I needed something new and clever to solve my problem. This is it! I bought this plus the Think Tank camera strap, and latched these little supports on to my backpack and it's perfect. That's the tidbit they don't tell you in the write-up of this product but that I was banking on when I bought it after carefully examining the photos: you aren't limited to using it with a Think Tank backpack. Any pack that has any vertically-oriented webbing on the shoulder harness will do. Mine are attached to the little bit of vertical webbing way up at the top of my shoulders. Basically it's attached to the load-lifter straps of the pack. The height at which the camera hangs can be adjusted quite easily and to quite a range so that when it bounces a little as you walk it can hit at a comfortable spot and not get in your way. Then you just raise it up to your eye with ease and shoot whenever you want to. I can hike and shoot, hike and shoot, without making my hiking partners wait for me to put the whole pack down and fish the camera out! I cannot recommend this product highly enough to anyone who hikes with more than just a tiny daypack, or especially with a multi-day backpack and wants their camera out there with them. I can use this with my mirrorless or with my big DSLR. Having the Think Tank camera strap with it is important, for the connection points, so definitely get that too.

Good for quick attachment of a camera to my Belly Dancer system but not a long term camera carry solution. I prefer my Black Rapid system for long term carry. You need to have a Think Tank camera strap on your camera or at least rings on the camera lugs.

These Nylon camera straps are easily adjustable and have heavy nickel plated quick release hooks. The hooks that attach to the backpack webbing are plastic but have locks that seem to be very secure. The support straps are a real relief for your neck, especially for long treks. I have adjusted my straps to hang high on my chest so my camera does not bounce, twist or swing while moving about. You should be aware that to remove your backpack you must first unhook your camera; it is quick and easy so I do not find this to be an issue. The straps come with a handy nylon pouch for storage when not in use. My straps were advertised as black but the straps I received are gray – I don't care but you may.

Works perfectly to support the camera and avoid neck straing. The required strap (Think Tank Camera Strap V2) is a bit slim for my taste but the combo works great.

Simply attaches to your backpack / camera strap. Easily adjustable and strong enough for a Canon 5D Mark II and 2.8 IS II 70-200 zoom with ease. Just took it on a 4 day trip to the Never Summer Wilderness in Arapaho National Forest, CO. worked great - so much more comfortable than trying to rig camera straps around backpack straps to keep it at your ready...

A must for backpackers who take their photography serious.
