Comments about Vivitar DF-186 DSLR Flash for Canon Cameras:
This is a great little flash for those common everyday occasions when you dont need the power of a larger professional style flash. I have only owned this flash for a short while but it works like a champ and produces great results. Another nice feature is the snap on light diffuser.

Comments about Vivitar DF-186 DSLR Flash for Canon Cameras:
The flash was easy to use, and worked great with my Canon T2i first thing. The bounce allows for some good effects. The manual could be better, but the product is solid and works well. Great for the price and it's made by Vivitar.

Comments about Vivitar DF-186 DSLR Flash for Canon Cameras:
After a rough start, user misunderstanding, I have come to enjoy this flash. As a low end, entry level product it has done it's job. It has made me eager to upgrade! I've used it mostly for fill flash and it worked perfectly at my niece's wedding, even though recycling was a little sluggish. All in all, for the price I don't regret my purchase at all.

Comments about Vivitar DF-186 DSLR Flash for Canon Cameras:
I added this flash to my latest purchase after being limited on some hobby shoots with the built-in flash. The unit itself isn't so heavy as to keep me from mounting it and the recycle time is reasonable if you're not too far from your subject. The slave function is a bit limited (no power settings) but otherwise a solid first flash.
