The Sony MDR-V55 DJ Style Headphones (Black/Red) are circumaural, closed back stereo headphones featuring neutral playback with swiveling earcups that fold flat to conserve space when not in use. One of the earcups is reversible for DJ use and both of them, as well as the headband are padded and adjustable for comfortable extended wear and a secure fit.
The MDR-V55s are recommended for recording, monitoring and mixing, and are particularly effective when connected to electronic keyboards and synthesizers because of their high output 40mm driver units with Neodymium magnets and impressive 5.0Hz - 25kHZ frequency range.

Comments about Sony MDR-V55 DJ Style Headphones (Black/Red):
For the money they do very well if you can live with a few limitations. They can get a bit stuffy and do lack extra features like a detachable cord and a remote but if you want good sound and fresh design for less than move on them. Bass is excellent and tight with the rest of the tonal range being very good and about what you would hope for for the price. Clarity is lacking in some spaces but overall the package is a very good deal.

Comments about Sony MDR-V55 DJ Style Headphones (Black/Red):
I've wanted these headphones for a while, since I first heard about them on youtube. I am very satisfied with them. I've been a Sony fan for a while. I'm typing this review up on my Sony laptop. I've always knew Sony makes quality products, so far they've never failed. I've been looking for a great pair of headphones with amazing bass. I bought three pairs of Sony headphones within three months. These headphones are perfect. I strongly recommend them. This is the way music is suppose to be heard. I'll be purchasing the MDR-1Rs and the MDR-X10s next.
Comments about Sony MDR-V55 DJ Style Headphones (Black/Red):
All the pros are the same as other reviews. The only con I don't see mentioned is that these get uncomfortably hot and hurt your ears after just 15 or so minutes of usage. So if it is comfort you're looking for, these are not the cans you're looking for.
Comments about Sony MDR-V55 DJ Style Headphones (Black/Red):
I own many headphones from Grado,Sennheisers,Beyerdynamic,Akg along with Sony models mdr-zx700,mdr7506's,V500's and these are the best sounding under 100.00 headphones I own. They have great balanced sound and for "DJ" headphones they sound great with all music genres.Great buy. Still trying to obtain storage pouch that sony says is included(mine came with no pouch)which is important to me.
Comments about Sony MDR-V55 DJ Style Headphones (Black/Red):
I made this purchase to replace my broken MDR-V700's. The sound quality is great. The headphones fold up nicely too. The short cord length is the only thing I don't like. Can't move around like with the MDR-V700's but will get used to it.
