Comments about FEISOL Elite CT-3372 Rapid Carbon Fiber Tripod Legs:

Bought to replace aluminum tripod, so this is much lighter. Tripod is very stable with thick legs. Comes with good quality, heavy-duty bag. Using gimbal head and Canon 500mm F4 IS mkI with no issues at all; handles the load very well.

Comments about FEISOL Elite CT-3372 Rapid Carbon Fiber Tripod Legs:

I use this tripod with a Wimberly WH-200 supporting a Canon FD and EF 800L with a gripped 5D III , so there is certainly some weight on it (~16 lbs).

The tripod is disarmingly lightweight and feels like it is made to do battle with. It is very strong, simple to operate, and shows excellent workmanship. It shows a very high level of stability even with my gear loaded onto it with legs fully retracted or extended. There is little vibration from disturbances from external sources, but like any tripod it is not immune to vibration. At 800mm, practically any shake will show up, but even considering this, the tripod doesn't get in the way of photographing anything. I noticed no bowing of the legs with all my gear on top regardless of orientation.

The leg locks can go from very firm to loose with a simple twist. They have yet to give any indication that they'll slip and let a leg collapse without warning. Similarly, the angle locks are rock solid and have no give. Also, you can reverse the legs (fold them completely up) to help reduce its size for travel/packing. This will work with a ballhead or another head that is compact compared to a gimbal. It will save a few inches, which is rather quite handy.

In terms of longevity, I cannot yet comment. So far, I would say this tripod will remain a top performer for a long time; however, I do not have the historical data to support that conclusion. Let's just say I would be incredibly surprised if this tripod did fail for any reason other than outright abuse to it.

I'm attempting to come up with a complaint, but I am not able to cite it for anything that is actually a fault of the tripod.

          Bottom line:
This tripod performs like a Ferrari but is priced like a Ford.

Comments about FEISOL Elite CT-3372 Rapid Carbon Fiber Tripod Legs:

This tripod makes a very good first impression as soon as one opens the tripod bag! The legs are large and the overall appearance is one of a solidly built, heavy-duty tripod, as the overview tab on the B&H site states. It also has a very nice finished look. The padded sections on the upper legs are lightweight, but probably all that one needs for a tripod weighing a mere 3.79 lbs.I really like the design of the large tightening/release knobs on each leg section because they provide a large surface area with an excellent grip. The lever that releases the legs so they can be positioned at preset or other angles also seems cleverly designed and works well. The large base plate provides a solid, large surface for a ball head and the hook below is a nice addition to hang a weight for added mass. I have no doubt this tripod will easily support the 26.46 lb load capacity and probably a lot more.As most of us do, I looked long and hard at more expensive tripods, and there are excellent products available. In the end I could not find a good reason to pay the extra cost. Obviously, the durability over years of use is one of the biggest unknowns, but from the well built and solid nature of this tripod I expect that it will hold up very well under normal use. So far I have been very pleased and do not regret the decision to buy a CT-3372. In fact, I'm pleasantly surprised with such a nice tripod for the money. If it would only extend to about 6'6" I would give it 5 stars without hesitation.
