The Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 710HD Projector packs a lot of advanced features backed with strong specs and cutting-edge technology into a surprisingly affordable package. Its 2800 lumens of projection power combined with its 3000:1 contrast ratio and 1280 x 800 resolution means it will provide a tack-sharp, vivid image in medium to large rooms, even those with high ambient light challenges.
But that's just the beginning. Another of the PowerLite Home Cinema 710HD Projector's key features is its Epson 3LCD, 3-chip technology. The projector's wide connectivity includes a digital HDMI port, a VGA input and a component input.
The PowerLite Home Cinema 710HD Projector is world-ready thanks to its auto-switching 100 to 240 V AC power supply and compatibility with NTSC, PAL and SECAM color systems. It's also compatible with PC and Mac resolution and frequency combinations so it's ideal for laptop-based business presentations.
Closed captioning is on board for noisy environments or for the hearing-impaired. There is also an auto iris system that constantly controls the light output based on the gamma and black / white levels of your projected content, for perfectly adjusted images and deepest blacks.

Comments about Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 710HD Projector:
It's pretty great even when there's a little bit of light in the room. It's very easy to use. We just couldn't figure out how to set the frame right when we put it at an angle.

Comments about Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 710HD Projector:
I bought this projector for use in a medium sized room (studio apartment), and have been projecting it across the entire length of the room, filling the wall perfectly. It is what I expected after doing my research. I imagine 1080p projectors would look even better but I am happy with the picture quality. Strangely, in the menu it says it's 1080p but I thought this was a 720p model. I've been watching movies and streaming Hulu and Youtube from my retina macbook pro via HDMI, and can even continue using my laptop window for other purposes.
The only thing that has bothered me is the heat the unit shoots out, but I know this is necessary. I run the unit in Eco mode which makes it MUCH quieter and only small sacrifice in brightness (this is quite a bright projector to begin with). I noticed the fans running louder recently, though this may be because I had it placed too close to walls where it doesn't have enough air circulation.
Overall I'm happy and I like that I could take this with me and set up at a friend's house with relative ease.

Comments about Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 710HD Projector:
This is a great projector for first time owners. Pros: Bright - Extremely bright, great for rooms with ambient light such as living room or bedroom. Portable - Comes with carrying case and is not heavy. No Rainbow Effect - As someone who had tried a DLP projector (Acer H6500) previously and suffered from the rainbow effect the 3LCD display of the Epson means to rainbow artifacts.Built in Speakers - quite loud actually, enough for an impromptu movie screening or gaming session.Display over USB - useful for doing a quick powerpoint or slideshow without too many bulky cables.Cons: Black levels - If you are home theater enthusiast who is going to put this into a light controlled dedicated theater room: it will work but it won't give you the same black/shadow details of a DLP, but then again no rainbow effect. No Audio Out - Not a problem for me per say, because I have an external audio system, but if you don't want to use the built in speakers you'll need the requisite cables (long enough) to hook up the components to both the projector and audio equipment. This fit my needs perfectly: a native widescreen projector with resolution at least 720p with no rainbow effect. I've used it in a variety of locations and it has performed very well.

Comments about Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 710HD Projector:
Purchased this unit based on B&H Sales Rep recommendation and after comparing several brands in store. Primary use is for big screen backyard movies to rekindle that "drive-in" feeling. Picture was bright, clear, sharp. Color was excellent without any adjustments needed right out of the box. Only used it for movies so far. Have to try it for pictures but expect similar results. Only area of note is black rendition; not as dark as a Home Theater projector but it's not designed to be an HT projector.

The speakers might not be large enough for a large crowd, but I use it with external speakers.

Comments about Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 710HD Projector:
I was looking for to buy a new projector which met my two criteria:
1. The image should be very close to images on my 720P 42" LCD "Sceptre" TV.
2. There should be a stock in adjustment possibility in a case, when in course of long using, the lamp will start to lose major parameters and it will required to make adjustments and add brightness, contrast, saturation and to adjust colors.
Epson 710HD meets all of my criteria.
I use my projector connected to computer with 35' HDMI cable in my living room to watch movies and sports from different web-sites. Distance to motorized screen-10'.
In "Theatre" mode and lamp in "Eco" mode Epson710HD gives the fine image (with brightness (-6), contrast (-2) and rest (0). Thus it is a big possibility for adjustments in the future using. Sewell HDMI 1X2 splitter helps me to connect my TV and projector to computer.
Of course, there are some CONS notes: would be nice to have screen trigger, universal remote control and lens ratio 1:1.6 instead 1:1.2, but even without above futures, this small, affordable Epson 710HD projector is the best choice for using in living room, where distance between walls mostly in about 10 to 13 feet.
