Questions? Ask our experts:

The digital camo RainCoat Pro from LensCoat is for the outside shooter who requires excellent protection for his camera/lens combo from the elements - rain, wind, sand, snow and dust. Made from a lightweight poly tricot material, this coat goes on easily with cinch straps and hook & loop closure and provides complete protection. It's held tightly around your lens and no dedicated eyepiece is required for its use. The fold-out arm sleeve that has its own dedicated storage pocket provides full access to your camera's controls.

The length is adjustable by using the included cinch straps that wrap the material around itself. The coat is quiet to use and will not disturb the surrounding environment. The unit comes with a mesh storage pocket and neat extension sleeve to accommodate longer lenses such as 600 and 800mm. It's compatible with LensCoat lens covers, Hoodie lens caps and camera BodyGuards. The Digital Camo is an advanced computer generated camouflage pattern. It is modeled after the U.S. Army's standard-issue ACU pattern, which provides a pixelated pattern that maximizes visual break up. The pattern, constructed from small rectangular pixels of color, mimics naturally occurring dappled textures and rough boundaries.

I purchased the LensCoat RainCoat for my new Canon 600mm F4 and would not trust any other brand out there to protect this lens! It fits well and is constructed well!

Comments about RainCoat Pro (Realtree Max4):

I purchased this product to help protect my telephoto lens and camera during inclement weather. The RanCoat Pro is well made and durable. It is designed to fit a wide range of lens lengths, as described. If you have a shorter lens, say in the 300mm size, the material can be over-lapped to work with this size lens. The product dose seem rather expensive to me, given the over-all amount of material and construction details involved, thus the 4 stars.

          Comments about RainCoat Pro (Navy):

I am a proponent of Think Tank products and I have the Think Tank Photo Hydrophobia Rain Cover but it is un-user friendly to place on the lens and camera plus the plastic window gets fogged up and it becomes "grungy" over time....so I wanted something easier and quicker to put on and also where I had more control of the camera.

I found the LensCoat products and read the reviews and they are all spot on. I had the raincoat on my 1DX and 400 2.8 in less than 60 seconds. Plus the entire back is open and the camera LCD and controls are in full view and more accessible for me.

I normally wear a photo vest when shooting sports and when there is a forecast of rain....it stores very nice and flat in the rear pocket....where the TT is rather bulky.

Does exactly what its designed to do. Now I don't worry when the rain starts coming down, if I still have a shot to get. It's a little awkward at first, but once you get the hang of it, it installs quite well. Keeps everything dry and protected.

Comments about RainCoat Pro (Realtree Max4):

I do a lot of wildlife photography and I am also a bargain gear guy, so the cameras that i have are weather sealed but most of the lenses that i use are slightly older and are not weather sealed, so this helps to keep my lenses from frying. It also helps me stay camouflage and i like how it covers both the lens and the body. Another thing that helps the fact that i use older lenses is that they don't make specific sleeves for the older lenses and this is a universal fit for anything 300mm 2.8 and up. so i don't have to buy a new coat every lens i get.

I received the rain coat over a week ago and finally had a chance to test it in some bad weather. Being Gore-Tex it worked very well. It kept my camera and 150-500mm zoom lens perfectly dry in a rather brisk sleet storm. Some other reviews griped about price but the protection this coat afforded my equipment was priceless. Nice work Lens Coat.

The raincoat pro is worth the investment to protect your cameras & lenses. I use this for my Nikon D750 & Tamron 150-600 mm lens.Spending $ is piece of mind.It takes a little time to get used to installing it correctly. I would recommend practicing several times so it becomes second nature. Better to learn at home so you can use it when the weather turns bad.I chose the Realtree Max camo pattern to help break up my camera's silhouette for wildlife photography.

Good rain protection from the elements. Large enough for long lenses. Almost a necessary accessory for those folks who brave the elements. Four stars instead of five because it's not clear to me how to install the covers. It comes in a couple of pieces and there are no instructions.

This product seems to be great! (haven't actually used in the rain yet) It is exactly as described and goes on camera and lens easily. The Real Tree camo matches the other Real Tree products I own. I was tempted to buy the Raincat Pro 2, but didn't see any reviews on the item. (the only difference is another arm/hand hole for easy access to manual focus). I found that it is easy to access what I need from the bottom of this model if need be... Price from B&H is same as manufacturer (Lenscoat)and you save on expedited shipping.

Comments about RainCoat Pro (Forest Green):

I live right on the ocean on the Central Coast Oregon where it rains almost every day of the year and there are giant waves and tons of saltwater spray. (Of course that's where the great seascape photos are!) This Lens Coat Rain Coat Pro covers my Nikon D4 and the entire Nikkor 600mm lens with room to spare. I can get both hands into the rain coat and operate all the controls on both the camera and the lens. It's well constructed and keeps the rain and salt water off my equipment.
