The digital camo RainCoat Pro from LensCoat is for the outside shooter who requires excellent protection for his camera/lens combo from the elements - rain, wind, sand, snow and dust. Made from a lightweight poly tricot material, this coat goes on easily with cinch straps and hook & loop closure and provides complete protection. It's held tightly around your lens and no dedicated eyepiece is required for its use. The fold-out arm sleeve that has its own dedicated storage pocket provides full access to your camera's controls.

The length is adjustable by using the included cinch straps that wrap the material around itself. The coat is quiet to use and will not disturb the surrounding environment. The unit comes with a mesh storage pocket and neat extension sleeve to accommodate longer lenses such as 600 and 800mm. It's compatible with LensCoat lens covers, Hoodie lens caps and camera BodyGuards. The Digital Camo is an advanced computer generated camouflage pattern. It is modeled after the U.S. Army's standard-issue ACU pattern, which provides a pixelated pattern that maximizes visual break up. The pattern, constructed from small rectangular pixels of color, mimics naturally occurring dappled textures and rough boundaries.

As a semi professional photographer, I must have this kind of article in my bag. And the RainCoat Pro was definitely the right choice for me. Took me about only 5 minutes the first time, to figure that thing out, and it fits perfectly.

Comments about RainCoat Pro (Realtree Max4):

This product seems to be great! (haven't actually used in the rain yet) It is exactly as described and goes on camera and lens easily. The Real Tree camo matches the other Real Tree products I own. I was tempted to buy the Raincat Pro 2, but didn't see any reviews on the item. (the only difference is another arm/hand hole for easy access to manual focus). I found that it is easy to access what I need from the bottom of this model if need be... Price from B&H is same as manufacturer (Lenscoat)and you save on expedited shipping.

Comments about RainCoat Pro (Forest Green):

I live right on the ocean on the Central Coast Oregon where it rains almost every day of the year and there are giant waves and tons of saltwater spray. (Of course that's where the great seascape photos are!) This Lens Coat Rain Coat Pro covers my Nikon D4 and the entire Nikkor 600mm lens with room to spare. I can get both hands into the rain coat and operate all the controls on both the camera and the lens. It's well constructed and keeps the rain and salt water off my equipment.

Comments about RainCoat Pro (Realtree AP Snow):

Just what I needed to cover my 600mm lens and it does a great job. Only issue I see so far is if I want to rotate the camera 90 degrees for a vertical composition, the cover hangs up slightly. It could be me (as its new) so will play some more with it. Overall though it does exactly what I purchased it for, keeping the camera and lens dry during shooting in rain/snow.

Comments about RainCoat Pro (Digital Camo):

This rain coat works well on my 500mm F4 and which ever body I have on it. Even though the lens and camera are suppose to be weather seal, this is cheap insurance.

The opening in the back for accessing the camera is a bit sloppy, but it does the job I expected!

It works, protects and covers as described but... for a [$] bucks I guess I was hoping for something more than just a piece of "quality" material bunched around my equipment.Would I purchase it again, I think so, [$]is cheap when protected a $6500.00 lens. But I would still whine about the cost.

Comments about RainCoat Pro (Digital Camo):

This raincoat comes in two sizes, the pro is for the bigger lenses, say 500 and above. I bought the Digital Camo print. It goes on quickly and very easy. The cinch straps allows you to adjust the length of the cover and will keep it snug around my lens. It has a fold out arm sleeve from its integrated pocket for access to the camera controls. You can also access the camera through the rear opening and the lens through the hook & loop bottom closure. You will not need a dedicated eyepiece for the cover. It is a waterproof, breathable poly tricot material and not a bit noisy. The kit I bought has a Hood extension sleeve included for my 500 lens with teleconverter.

Comments about RainCoat Pro (Realtree Max4):

Inclement weather can yield amazing images if you get out but you have to be prepared or you may come home with damaged equipment.

Rain covers for your camera and lenses come in a variety of different styles and brands, ranging in costs from about $50 and up to several hundred dollars. Or of course if you are handy with a sewing machine you could make your own. Over the many years I have been a nature photographer I have tried nearly all the commercial versions available and each has benefits and drawbacks in the way you attach it to your gear or how weather resistant it really was in the field.

Of all the commercial versions on offer, I recently started using the "LensCoat RainCoat Pro" purchased from B&H which I found to nearly fill all my requirements when shooting with longer lenses (from 300mm f2.8 and up). The cover is soft to the touch and doesn't rustle in the wind, has clinch tabs for tightening any loose material, is waterproof with taped seams. The raincoat covers the complete lens and body easily.

If I was to nitpick, my only other observation is that it doesn't easily allow for an off camera flash cord attachment; which would be a common situation with tripod and flash with better beamer.
