The Verizon Coaxial Network Adapter from Actiontec enables Verizon FiOS subscribers to distribute HD video and other multimedia content throughout the home over their existing coaxial cabling. It is easy to install, use, maintain. Ideal for use with gaming consoles, computers and home theater system devices such as HDTV. The Network Adapter is based on the MoCA (Multimedia over Coax Alliance) standard to deliver up to 175 Mbps of bandwidth wherever there's a coaxial port.

Designed to turn your coaxial cable network into a high-speed Internet access, the Adapter teams up with your Actiontec MI424WR router to deliver up to 270 Mbps of bandwidth anywhere you've got a coaxial port. The Network Adapter eliminates the need to run Ethernet cable all over your house or depend on the whims of wireless networking. You just need to plug-in to your coaxial network and play.

The Coaxial Network Adapter is perfect for condominiums, apartment buildings, homes and other residential buildings. It allows you to add high-speed Internet access anywhere without the hassle and high cost of complex infrastructure modifications. The Network Adapter features simple and seamless integration and offers endless possibilities for network expansion over existing wiring configurations.

As modern homes become increasingly equipped with multiple, high-definition TVs and DVRs the need for increased bandwidth throughout the home is becoming more critical. The standard home network is rapidly changing from the basic printer DSL modem-computer configuration to high-performance IP networking that transmits massive multimedia files such as digital and high-resolution movies at high speed with little or no degradation. The Coaxial Network Adapter fulfills this need as it coexists with most broadband services.

The Adapter offers secured, wired connection to Verizon FiOS.

Comments about Actiontec Verizon Coaxial Network Adapter:

I'm a Verizon Fios subscriber and an Apple TV2 owner. My Apple TV2 was running on my wireless network. The speed was good, but I was having some buffering issues with Apple's hi-def movies. A wired ethernet wasn't an option for me. After some research, I picked up the Verizon Coaxial Adapter.

Installation was a no-brainer. Everything you need is in the box and the directions are clear. The entire process literally takes 2 minutes. It has a small footprint, so it doesn't take up much room in your cabinet.

I've only streamed one hi-def movie since installing, but it worked flawlessly. Zero buffering. If I notice problems as I stream more films, I'll update my review.

If you want the speeds of a wired ethernet connection but can't (or don't want to) run cable, I recommend the Verizon Coaxial Network Adapter. It's an elegant solution.
