The FDA-EP10 Eyepiece Cup for NEX-7 Digital Camera from Sony is a replacement eyepiece cup for the camera's electronic viewfinder, compatible with the Sony NEX-7 Digital Camera. The soft touch eyepiece cup helps to protect your viewfinder from dust, moisture, and scratches. It allows more comfortable viewing when camera is held to eye, especially when wearing glasses. The design also helps to block out unwanted light, providing more detail while looking through the viewfinder. It is also compatible with optional FDA-EV1S electronic viewfinder for NEX-5N cameras.

Been using my NEX-7 for more than a year now - about to acquire a second house - and my wife got herself one when she saw my first batch. I believe the eyepiece came off once; found it in my camera bag - no prob.

When I first installed the eyecup that came with my NEX-7, I wasn't sure I liked it, so I decided to try the camera again with it off. To my surprise, it didn't want to come off easily, and, having seen pictures of ripped apart NEX-5N EVF's, I decided not to force it. I was very surprised, then, to find one day that the eyecup had simply disappeared. This gave me the opportunity to try the camera without it, and I concluded that, while it's not very good, it's better than no eyecup.
B&H had the OE part in stock, at a reasonable price, and with free shipping. I would still like to see a better one - more coverage, softer material... since the 6 and 7 use the same part, hopefully we'll see some 3rd party options soon.

this design is horrible for:
1. easily detaches, i have lost it twice.
2. too small it is uncomfortable in the eye
if you own nex7, you will buy this many times again.
if it was better made, i wouldnt have to buy this thing twice. i would have been much happier if they sold an upgraded eyepiece, so if i loose the sucky original one, i wouldnt feel so bummed into buying a stock one again.
