The 1.3MP Moticam 1 SP Digital Camera for Microscopes from National Optical & Scientific Instruments, Inc. is an easy to use, plug-and-play digital camera for both compound and stereoscopic microscopes. The camera is able to mount on any microscope that has a C-Ring adapter. The adapter will attach to the camera body and mount to the microscope. Comments about National 1.3MP Moticam 1 SP Digital Camera for Microscopes:

I was pleasantly surprised of how good this cheap and simple scope camera is. Being a pathologist who does microscopy for a living I was amazed that this camera could in fact provide excellent photomicroscopy results! I am using it with my home zeiss microscope, another excellent educational value, using one of the oculars as a mount. Surprisingly, this combo provides professional level photomicropaphy at less than educational level price! I was glad to find out that I can teach my kids about the microscopic world at a fraction of the price of my work professional Nikon equipment. To put it in perspective, my work Nikon microscope camera is 4000 dollars, this dollar "kit camera" offers 8/10's of its optical and digital performance an exceptional value in my expert opinion. Getting the most of its performance using the binocular tube takes some fiddling but once installed correctly, the optical resolution is excellent even the lighting is acceptable, with crisp color rendition and good contrast, the results are good enough for even post graduate educational purposes. They are not good enough for publishing but I don't think anyone would expect that type of performance from a piece of kit that costs less than the slide holder on some professional scopes. One tip for installation on the binocular eyepiece; the rubber eye cup has to be removed (on the zeis it pops out)so that the image fills out the sensor and the adapter fits well on the ocular. I was also pleasantly surprised at how complete though simple the software is. Again great optics at an incredible price, an exceptional value, very highly recommended.
