Comments about SIIG NN-EC2812-S2 FireWire 800 ExpressCard:
I got this card after a frustrating trial-and-error process of trying to get a Presonus StudioLive 16.0.2 mixer to talk to my laptop. It works great, I have 3ms latency. The only drawback is that it sticks out quite a bit, so I have to remove it every time I want to put the laptop in its bag.

Comments about SIIG NN-EC2812-S2 FireWire 800 ExpressCard:
The card installed easily, and Windows 7 installed the driver immediately. I connected my M-Audio FireWire 1814 interface for recording, and my Audacity DAW software read it seamlessly. When I'm not using the interface, I just pop the card out of the laptop and place the dummy back in. The price was reasonable, and I received the product three days before the estimated delivery date. I am very happy with the product and the service.

Comments about SIIG NN-EC2812-S2 FireWire 800 ExpressCard:
The unit works fine. I'm using it to connect to Firewire sound cards and use the standard Microsoft drivers, which can be easily switched to with the provided application.
My only complaint is it easily pops out of the pci slot and loses connectivity. Disastrous when recording! My solution so far has been to tape the unit in using electrical tape.
In fairness- the problem might lie in my laptop which is a Lenovo X230 tablet.
