The LP-59 Replacement Foot for Canon 300mm f/2.8 IS II USM Lens from Kirk replaces the stock lens foot with a quick release plate. The dual functioning attachment reduces setup time and lowers weight by eliminating the additional plate needed when using a stock foot. Constructed out of aircraft grade 6061 anodized aluminum alloy, it features a scratch resistant black satin finish. The LP-59 is compatible with all Arca - Swiss tripod heads, and comes with a 5-year limited warranty.

Comments about Kirk LP-59 Replacement Foot for Canon 300mm f/2.8 IS II USM Lens:
Well constructed and properly balanced for use on any kind of head. I'm using it with both an RRS BH-55 ball-head and a CB Gimbal head, and have absolutely no qualms about recommending it to anyone contemplating it. My only reason for not giving it 5 stars are the poor retention screws supplied for the base (This and all other Kirk plates have the same). Unless the lens is screwed in extra tight, they still have the tendency to over-ride the detents in the QR base on both my heads. Kirk really needs to take a leaf out of the book of Really Right Stuff who supply much longer & safer retention screws. If you take this into account, it is extremely light, and excellent value for money.

Comments about Kirk LP-59 Replacement Foot for Canon 300mm f/2.8 IS II USM Lens:
When used with just the lens and 7D on a side mount gimball such as sidekick or mongoose the foot gets in the way of fingers on camera grip. With 2X ext. it is at its limit on other end.
