Comments about Rode Stereo VideoMic Pro + Dead Kitten Windshield Bundle:

The Stereo Videomic Pro is a HUGE upgrade from any built-in microphones that may come with your camera, and it often provides some very usable audio. Of course, you couldn't get away with just using this mic for all your needs, and even where it performs well (ambience and music), you will get better audio with more money. But for anything near its price, this mic is an incredible piece of equipment, and it is far more usable in general use, in my opinion, than the shotgun pickup pattern of the Videomic Pro. Its small form factor and incredibly light weight are really awesome too.

I haven't had it for too long, but the rubber bands do seem to be a little insecure. There are plenty of backup bands though, and when they are on they provide ample protection from vibration.

The Dead Kitten is excellent. Night and Day with that guy on my mic.

Comments about Rode Stereo VideoMic Pro + Dead Kitten Windshield Bundle:

I purchased this kit earlier this year. Last week I put it to the test and it was amazing. I take videos of high school marching bands. Because these performances are outside wind is a significant problem. Last Saturday I did a 12 hour shoot where the first 7 hours had a constant wind of 15 - 20MPH and gusts up to 36 - 50 mph. For the higher wind there was some rumble which was easily eliminated with an equalization adjustment but otherwise the sound was great. That has never happened before and it could not have been better. The professional I was taping next to had to borrow the windscreen from my back up microphone - also a rode - that did not quite fit her microphone and her sound was terrible. I would definately buy this product again, and highly recommend it to anyone needing a microphone for the DSLR or camcorder.

      A nice combo

Comments about Rode Stereo VideoMic Pro + Dead Kitten Windshield Bundle:

I bought the combo because I knew I needed the deadcat when filming outside. The mic sounds great and looks good on top of my 5D Mark III right. You use this instead of a shotgun mic when you need record 360 degree audio. I wish it was cheaper, though.
