The Yasuhara Nanoha Macro Lens 5:1 for Sony E-Mount is a true macro lens for photographing at 4:1 or 5:1 magnifications. A removable lighting module has three LEDs for lighting very small objects, which is often necessary because the lens itself is so close as to block light from the subject. Also included are four plastic holders that can be mounted to the front of the lens to maintain a consistent distance of 0.43-0.75" / 11-19mm between lens and subject. These plastic holders can be easily modified by cutting them to fit your subject.

The depth of field is so shallow, that it is literally impossible to focus the lens on a live specimen. You practically have to touch your subject with the lens to focus. We are returning our purchase!

I've not used a lens quite like this one before. It is capable of producing very sharp images in extreme closeup - 4X to 5X magnification.Need to experiment more, but this is very good fun. Just need to find a practical use for it somehow...Better packaging would have earned a 5
