I have two on camera video lights. One is an off brand with more lights and the other is the MiniBurst 256. The MiniBurst 256 is brighter, has a much higher build quality, and comes with a beyond terrific carrying case. I really view this product as a professional video light and works great for my video business. I really think this light competes well with all the other lights in its price range.

I like the fact that it uses standard batteries as well as the light is good enough for what I bought it for. However I purchased 3 of these at once, and the first one I opened was DOA (Dead On Arrival). I wonder how after passing the "tests" and "inspections" at the factory, a unit can still reach a customer, being totally dead? I had to go to the store to replace it and now am happy again at the end. I will see how this works for a while and decide on my next purchase, or not.

Comments about Digital Juice MiniBurst 256 LED Portable Video Light System:
We like these lights a lot!B&H is cheaper than Digital Juice unless they are having a sale. These lights are really well made and come with all the accessories you will need to get going. Color filter, softener (we still use a soft box), AC Adaptor, Car adaptor, adjustable mount for tripod or light stand use, large battery and charger - all in a really small softcase. Great packaging DJ!The lights themselves are metal construction so I have no doubt they will last a while. They also stay very cool to the touch even after being set at full brightness for hours. The included batteries lasted about 2 hours at full brightness, but we will always opt for AC power when we can.We would REALLY love something like this that included barn doors to help direct the light a bit more. But since they stay cool, we have even been able to use gaff for this without worry of setting anything on fire.If you are using them to light talent, be aware that they are pretty bright so have something available to soften the light.

Great little light but the battery and the charger are junk. My battery would not hold a charge so I had to send the unit back. Too bad I wanted to make this work.

Comments about Digital Juice MiniBurst 256 LED Portable Video Light System:
These lights are small, but they produce a very bright, even light. I would say they are equally as bright as my Litepanels 1x1 "focusable" LED elements and these will run, at full brightness for nearly three hours on one Sony NP-F970 equivalent battery! They are fully dimable as well. I liked the first two I purchased so much, I bought 4 more! My entire video lighting kit was exclusively LitePanels 1x1 and LitePanels Hilio. I still use them, but for a shoot where I need to travel extremely light, these will be my go-to lights because I know they can easily handle it! I would describe myself as a professional videographer with 25 years in the industry. My only choices on this review was as a photographer, so I chose "Pro Photographer". You might want to fix that B&H!

Battery will not hold a charge. It's a shame I really wanted to keep this light. The battery and the charger are junk. If you need a reliable light look elsewhere.

Very nice light, batteries life is not great. Died in the middle of a shoot, under 1.5 hours. Plugged it in the next day and was fine.

Comments about Digital Juice MiniBurst 256 LED Portable Video Light System:
WOW doesn't begin to express my satifiaction with these lights. In fact I bought two 256s and four 128s. Not having to worry about finding a power outlet plug is priceless, especially in some older buildings. All of the included charging adapters make it easy to keep charged batteries on hand. The nice case is a real plus too.
The ONLY minus with LED style lights is the odd light fall-off when using sharp-edged flags caused by the rows of LEDs. If they staggered every other row it would help alot.

I purchased 3 items, and one is DOA. I depended on it for a shoot tomorrow morning, and was totally shocked to see the first item I opened, was Dead. I mean dont they check these things before they are packaged out at the end of the assembly line? Item was not broken, but just plain Dead On Arrival (No function whatsoever, no power up, nothing, zero!) Very dissapointed to say the least.
