A favorite of educators, business people and travelers alike, the XJ-A251 Slim WXGA DLP Projector is aptly named. At 1.7" (4.3 cm) and only 5 pounds (2.3kg), the projector is likely to log a lot of travel miles in your carry-on as well as becoming your go-to solution for on-the-fly presentations or lectures in educational institutions.

The LED / laser hybrid light source produces 3000 lumens of output, (enough to meet the challenge of high ambient light situations), for up to 20,000 hours- 10X more than a standard source. That means less lamp replacement expense, less downtime and since it's mercury-free, less of an impact on the environment.

The built-in power focus and 2x zoom lens facilitate sizing up crisp, high-resolution (1280 x 800 = 1,024,000 pixels) images on screens up to 300" (7.6 m) diagonal, while wide connectivity options, including HDMI and audio output, ensure functionality with source components.

Besides being a highly portable, form-follows-function solution to your presentation needs, the XJ-A251 Slim WXGA DLP Projector provides a rare added benefit: you can actually feel good about yourself for using it due to its mercury free design.

HDMI x 1
A built-in HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) input provides a direct digital input and allows connectivity with many widescreen notebooks now shipping with HDMI outputs. Compatible with HD video formats, HD video sources including Blu-ray players, cable converter boxes and gaming systems can be connected to the slim projector
Automatic Brightness Adjustment
The automatic brightness adjustment, which adjusts lumen output based on the level of ambient light in the room, saves power, which saves money (and saves you from eye strain as well)
The native WXGA (1280 X 800) resolution of the Slim projector allows for optimal viewing of content created and formatted for today's widescreen displays. Whether it is viewing a spreadsheet or two applications side by side, the WXGA slim projector provides more useable screen area and displays more information on the same screen. Widescreen display formats have become the standard and now your projector can match the widescreen display of notebook PC's and HD video sources
2x Optical Zoom
Whether you are in a small office or a large boardroom the 2x power zoom lens gives you the flexibility to easily position the projector
Cost Effective
Compared with conventional high brightness projectors employing mercury lamps, slim technology cuts costs as well as the time and effort involved in lamp exchange while maintain clear, high-quality images over an extended period. The lamp free design is backed by a comprehensive 3-year warranty including the light source; users can expect reliable worry free operation from the Slim projectors
Mercury Free Light Source
Provides 10X longer light source life than Casio mercury lamp while being more economical based on lamp replacement. The Slim projector features quick startup and shutdown. The projector reaches its maximum brightness in a minimum of eight seconds and requires no cooling down period - an advantage for keeping presentations focused and smooth
Superior Color, High Brightness
The projector delivers a 50 percent increase in color spectrum for high impact presentations due to improvements in LED and laser technology. Superior color reproduction enhances color purity allowing visual effects to appear brighter and offering powerful images that conventional projectors cannot match
Hybrid Light Engine
By combining a laser, a fluorescent element and an LED, Casio has created an original mercury-free hybrid light source capable of generating high brightness. Casio has achieved high brightness output of green light, which until now, has been considered difficult with conventional semiconductor light sources, by efficiently converting blue laser light into green light using a fluorescent element

Comments about Casio XJ-A251 Slim WXGA DLP Projector:

We purchased this Casio projector for use by our traveling Sales team for use in training sessions with groups of 10 to 30 people. The projector is thin and easily able to fit in a laptop bag with the laptop for easy transportation.

The projector is bright enough to be used in a fully light room. The color of the image is great with a crisp and clean image.

The only thing that would be nice to have is a 15W speaker built into the projector. Otherwise this is a real winner.

Comments about Casio XJ-A251 Slim WXGA DLP Projector:

I primarily use this projector for home theater purposes, although it's performance and ease of use would be great for business and travel as well. The way I have this set up in my house is NOT what experts would consider the optimal setting. I have the projector at an extreme angle, on a music stand (not quite its intended purpose, but it's sturdy), and I project images a plain white wall (no fancy screen or black border). Thing is, even with that admittedly newbie setup, the projector performs amazingly. The zoom function is especially handy for helping to get just the right screen size you're looking for (unlike other projectors where you're stuck moving the projector itself forward or backwards). I regularly project at a screen size of about 110" and the clarity is great. The default color settings needed a little tweaking, in my opinion, to get a more true blue. And be prepared to get a HDMI switch if you are planning to use this for home theater use. (I currently have it connected to a Roku box, dvd player, and occasionally even my Kindle HD.) I'd also recommend comparing the other Casio slim models to make sure you're getting the specs you want. For me, this was the perfect combo (WXGA, zoom, 3000 lumens) and well worth it.
