The Republic of Gamers G75VW-DS72 17.3" Notebook Computer (Matte Black) from ASUS houses the power of a tricked out desktop gaming PC in one portable notebook computer. This ASUS notebook redefines the term "mobile gaming." Full resolution graphics, consistent frames per second (fps) and high definition multimedia are compacted into a notebook which allows you to dominate the competition while on the go.
This ASUS notebook has a 17.3" Full HD anti-glare widescreen display that is backlit with LED lamps. LED lamps brighten faster, are more energy efficient and provide better image quality than their CCFL counterparts. The screen has a true 16:9 aspect ratio, which is also the standard of HDTVs. The Full HD 1920 x 1080 native resolution is supported by a nVIDIA GeForce GTX 670M with 3GB of dedicated memory.
The system is powered by a quad-core Ivy Bridge 2.3GHz Intel Core i7-3610QM processor. It also comes with 16GB of DDR3 RAM, 1.06TB of hard drive storage (750GB 7200rpm HDD + 256GB SSD), a Blu-ray player with DVD burning capabilities, 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, an integrated 2-megapixel webcam and microphone. This computer is a replacement for one that was stolen. My prvious computer was a GS70 which I enjoyed very much. The G75 is even more enjoyable to use than my previous one. Especially the quick boot up time. Using it only for a couple of weeks but I know I will have many years of enjoyable use.

When I'm out taking photos, I unload my Nikon D800 via the USB 3.0 port and then edit with Photoshop CS6.
When I'm at a WiFi hotspot the notebook finds the connection easily.
Great: Fast, powerful.
Cons: Nothing really, I can get my work done within the 2 1/2 hour battery limit.

I bought this to be a portable photo a video editing machine. Gaming is not high on my list.
So far, it is perfect for what I wanted. The screen is big and bright. The SSD, high speed HDD and graphics card makes the software work quickly.
I was surprised when I opened the box. A backpack and mouse were included. Additionally, the optical drive is a Blu-Ray writer, which is perfect for someone editing video!

This is a very powerfull laptop with the most advanced components inside at the moment.I use it for Video editting, gaming and virtualisation.I works great with Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 and After Effects both running at the same time.Also the graphic card does a pretty good job on Crysis 2The only 2 things with this laptop that I noticed are:- it is heavy- I installed new audio codecs and now the subwoofer doesn't work properly. But I still have 2.0 sound, and it is also great.
