The U32U-DS31 13.3" Notebook Computer (Silver) from ASUS is a compact notebook computer with a streamlined aluminum chassis. The system is built with portability in mind. It is less than an inch thin when closed and weighs a scant 3.86 pounds. What's more, it can run for up to 10 hours on a single charge thanks to an 8-cell battery and the ASUS Super Hybrid Engine power management system.
The 13.3" HD widescreen display is backlit with LED lamps, which are more energy efficient than their CCFL counterparts. The screen has a 16:9 aspect ratio, which is also the standard for HDTVs. The 1366 x 768 native resolution is supported by integrated AMD Radeon HD 6320 graphics.
The system is powered by a dual-core 1.6GHz AMD E-450 Brazos processor. It also has 6GB of DDR3 RAM, a 500GB 5400rpm hard drive, a 3-in-1 media card reader, a Ethernet RJ-45 jack, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0+HS, an integrated webcam, microphone and stereo speakers. Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) is the installed operating system.

This computer is fantastic! It is very light and packed with awesome features. it was recommended to me to purchase an Asus by my computer tech. He noted that most of the best components in laptops come from Asus, so it made sense to buy a full Asus system. I did my homework on the laptops available and it happens that everything I needed was in this Asus.
I use it for writing my novel, surfing the web, playing music storing photos, genealogy and even some games. As for games, I do not play those graphic-hungry games. I play Age of Kings and Diablo III. It does a great job in handling these games.
I also watch movies on Netflix and I'm happy to say that this computer handles it well, although on some HD streaming movies I have to turn HD off in Netflix and the movie plays fine.
There is a slight flex in the keyboard but after a few hours of typing, you adapt to it and forget it. Still, the keyboard is very comfortable.
I'm thinking of getting one for my girlfriend soon.
I HIGHLY recommend this computer to anyone who is looking for a well featured laptop at an affordable price.
Don't expect to run space shuttle missions on this, though. It runs on an E450 CPU, but a great feature is the 6GB memory so it makes up for it. I really like the 500GB hard drive but feel that a 750GB would have been better.
I got it with an Asus Slim Drive External Drive and am very happy I did. An internal drive machine would have been heavier and larger than I would prefer.
Bottom line: A great affordable machine. Normally you get what you pay for but in this case, the Asus U32U-DS31 13.3" Notebook Computer give you a lot more than what you pay for!

Not quite an "ultrabook" is size, but the price savings are worth it. It is slim and light, and the brushed aluminium finish is nice looking. So far the AMD processor seems impressive, but I don't do much more than word processing and internet surfing. Battery life is VERY impressive - doesn't get very hot either. Overall, good buy for the money.
