The NX210 Mirrorless Digital Camera with 18-55mm Lens (Black) from Samsung is a more compact, more affordable alternative to a DSLR camera that employs a mirror. Along with the sleek, slim design of the NX210, you get the creative opportunities that interchangeable lenses afford, plus fine-detailed imagery: with a large (23.5 x 15.7mm), high-resolution APS-C image sensor, the NX210 captures photos at a vast 20.3 Megapixels. This model comes with a versatile 18-55mm zoom lens and a flash that attaches to the camera's hot shoe.

The lens features Samsung's i-Function technology, which puts a button on the lens that unlocks the manual adjustment of several settings. Choose among shutter speed, aperture, exposure value, white balance, and ISO, and then turn the ring on the lens to adjust your selected parameter. The slim-bodied NX210 camera has a mount that accepts any of Samsung's NX-mount lenses, a growing family that already offers a wide range of choices.

The NX210's video system is capable of recording full HD 1920 x 1080 video at 30p. Set at 1280 x 720 resolution, the NX210 can even capture true slow-motion video.

Having Wi-Fi connectivity in your camera allows you to save photos and videos directly to a computer or cloud service while you shoot, email them, print them wirelessly, or upload them straight to Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. You'll never have to worry about losing a great shot, running out of storage space, or remembering to bring the right cable along.

The bundled 18-55mm lens zooms 3x and offers an aperture range of f/3.5-5.6. The OIS II optical stabilization ameliorates camera shake for any image
The NX210's 20.3 Mp APS-C CMOS sensor offers much finer detail in images, and features super-sonic dust reduction
The NX210 records movies as H.264 files at Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution at 30 progressive frames per second. The camera can also record 720p (1280 x 720) at 60 fps
"High-speed" (quick-motion) recording is possible at 5x, 10x, and 20x. The NX System also features an ultra-high-speed Auto Focus that can rival that of almost any system camera. Its advanced algorithm delivers faster and more accurate auto focus. The NX210 can shoot at 8 frames per second for better continuous shooting, and shutter lag has been reduced to just 40ms
Slow-motion recording is possible at 0.5x (1280, 640, and 320 horizontal-line modes only) as well as 0.25x (640 and 320 modes only)
For stereo audio capture, left and right microphones are integrated into the camera's top – and separated by a distance that's about equivalent to the diameter of the lens mount. There's also a top-mounted speaker for playback
With a 3.0" VGA AMOLED display, allowing you to easily review the picture you shot, even in direct sunlight. And because the display utilizes the latest in AMOLED technology, it's much thinner than a conventional TFT-LCD display, making it much lighter and more compact in size
The camera's fast drive enables the capture of decisive moments at a speed of 8 shots per second
Display options include Grid (four types), Histogram (for checking exposure levels), Icon On/Off, and a Distance Scale that's selectable in feet or meters (or can be turned off)
The bundled SEF-8A flash (GN8) mounts to the camera's hot shoe. Flipping it up turns it on; flipping it back down turns it off again
One touch of the Fn button activates the overhauled user interface, a user-friendly graphic UI that gives the user direct control over all camera features
Smart Filter enables access to 10 filters for applying artistic effects in-camera
Express your current mood by applying one of 12 included Magic Frames to your photo
The NX210 can create 3D images (regular or panoramic) without a special lens
Focus Aid shows an on-screen reference for easier manual focusing
Framing mode auto-gains the brightness of the display in low-light scenes to keep the LCD bright

Comments about Samsung NX210 Mirrorless Wi-Fi Digital Camera with 18-55mm Lens (Black):

First off, I have to say that my experience shopping via B&H online was great because I was able to ask questions, and get extremely quick responses, about my purchase. I get nervous when buying online because any retail website can look professional, but can represent a shady (or nonexistent) company. Not the case with B&H so you're in good hands. I'm new to DSLRs (and higher-level photography in general), but I chose this camera because I wanted one that was small, well-made, and has a lot of features that larger DSLRs do. I spent a very long time doing the research, and found the NX210 to be the absolute winner.Samsung has come a long way, in terms of their integration of features like WiFi and other methods of content sharing (yes, you can email photos directly from the camera when within WiFi range), so for them to create a DSLR that has the same abilities was perfect. I haven't always been a Samsung fan, but they have really changed their tune since 2009, and are now listening to their users and keeping their software and products up to date. The camera is light, but solid. I went "photography'ing" with a friend of mine and she seemed disappointed that while her camera was red, mine was small and gorgeous. The stock lens is bulky, but the overall package is still much smaller and cleaner looking than *all* of the other compact DSLRs I looked at--maybe a matter of preference. Though megapixels aren't everything, it's still got a 20.1 sensor which has to account for something--though I'm not sure what other than for bragging rights. The interface for the preview screen has a learning curve to figure out, but it is not impossible by any means. And it is bright and pleasant to look at.As for picture taking, the manual modes are all there for "real" photographers, but the automatic modes also work very well for when I want to just take pictures and don't have time to fiddle around with various settings to get an artistic shot. That's where the camera's versatility really shines because Samsung has had finally taken the time to refine their own built-in features (3D, panorama, artistic filters) way beyond those of other manufacturers. The stock lens that comes with the camera is fantastic for a beginner like myself, and the iFunctions aren't mind-blowing but they make settings easy to get to.I tend to like the way my photos come out without having to edit them. Plus, there is a feature that causes three successive shutter releases with different white balance, or different apperature, etc., for those who aren't sure that the setting they chose will result in the best photo. Again, perfect for a newbie like myself.24fps video = AMAZING and perfect for that "cinematic" effect. I've seen reviews where people complained about the loudness of Auto Focus (AF), but I'm not relying on built-in sound capture. [The camera has stereo speakers and seems to pick up sound very well, though.]The only thing that is weird about the camera is ISO performance. I find myself leaving it on Auto because I haven't figured out how or under what circumstances it is appropriate to use a higher ISO level. But, that's not to say that low-light photos don't come out. Many of them look amazing, as long as I have chosen the right settings.I don't know if it's because it's my first, but I am constantly reminded of how happy I am with my purchase every time I look at the camera, and particularly when I use it. Samsung is very open and communicative about the device, and they have loads of resources in social media.Battery life is astounding for me, since I'm not an all-day type of photographer. For me, it's lasted four days, taking 20 shots here and there a few times a day, and connecting to my tablet and phone to transfer them, or emailing them.Final note: Many times, you can tell how good a piece of tech is by its second-hand availability. You won't find many of these at all! I'm thinking it's because people LOVE them, myself included.
