Opteka's SteadyVid EX Video Stabilizer for Compact Cameras, DSLRs & Camcorders is a compact, lightweight, and affordable support system for shooting video with lightweight compact digital cameras, camcorders or DSLRs (up to a total maximum weight of 2.1 lb). The SteadyVid reduces camera shake and provides a stable way to handhold a light camera for video. It features aluminum construction, a comfortable grip handle, a very smooth gimbal precise, controlled motion, a polished chrome counterweight, spirit level, rubberized camera mount and thumb stabilizer.

I think for the price it is good. the ball socket that is under the video cam could have at least a 170 degree range. I know for the price this is what you get. There is a little divet where your thumb goes to help keep the camera from spinning around. That is helpful. The weight is good but I find that I need to work out more to be able to hold the camera and Opteka longer

Works exactly as described. Never used one before a little difficult to pick up and go if you aren't very familiar with it.

Balancing the thing is near impossible without modifying it, but the real weak point is the gimble. Too much friction and not enough movement range. I'm surprised B&H sells these.
