The Elvid FieldVision 7" On-Camera Monitor with Canon LP-E6 Battery Plate and Charger is a 7" LCD monitor that you can attach to a DSLR or HD video camera via the 1/4"-20 threaded mounting hole on the bottom of the monitor. It comes equipped with a Canon LP-E6 type battery and charger. The field monitor features a native resolution of 800 x 480 pixels and supports resolutions up to 1920 x 1440 scaling down the video to fit. With brightness levels of 250 cd/m2, a 500:1 contrast ratio and a wide off axis viewing angle this monitor is a useful tool when shooting video or stills, providing you with a larger image than your camera's built-in viewfinder or LCD screen.

The monitor provides dual composite video inputs and a single audio input, as well as HDMI and VGA (PC) connectivity. Special features include horizontal and vertical image flip, a rear speaker for audio monitoring, and auto aspect ratio detection. When using the HDMI or VGA inputs you can adjust the color temperature of the monitor's display. The monitor includes one Canon LP-E6 type battery, a charger, an AC power supply, and a cigarette lighter power adapter. The battery plate is removable, and replacement battery plates are available so you can power your monitor with optional compatible batteries. The included accessory shoe to 1/4"-20 adapter allows you to mount the monitor directly to your camera's hot/cold shoe.

Monitor

The FieldVision monitor features a 7" LCD screen with 800 x 480 native resolution and supports standards up to 1920 x 1440, including 1920 x 1080, 720p and both NTSC and PAL.
The 500:1 contrast ratio and 250 nit maximum brightness make this a versatile monitor that works well in both dark and bright environments.
The wide viewing angle of the monitor allows you to see a clear image even when you are not directly in front of the monitor.
The monitor features an HDMI, a VGA, and two composite inputs with an audio input via the included A/V cable.
There are menu adjustments for volume, brightness, contrast, hue, saturation, color temperature (only when using the HDMI or VGA inputs), aspect ratio selection (4:3 and 16:9), and horizontal and vertical position adjustment. The monitor also features independent horizontal and vertical image flip, which allows you adjust the monitor to view the image correctly even if the monitor is upside down or you are seeing it in a mirror.
The color temperature settings are adjustable using presets of 9300K, 7500K, 6500K, as well as a user adjustable setting.
Volume up and down and monitor brightness are also directly controllable from via the front buttons without accessing the menu.
The built-in speaker allows you to easily monitor audio, so you can see and hear your shot when checking playback.
You can select from the following languages for the OSD. English, Simplified Chinese, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Russian.

Battery

The monitor comes with an attached Canon LP-E6 type plate to power the unit. It also includes a Canon LP-E6 type battery and charger. You can purchase optional battery plates that will allow you to use select batteries to power your monitor. This is useful if you change your camera system and start using different batteries. By switching to an available compatible battery plate, you don't have to carry different kinds of batteries or buy a whole new monitor.

Accessories

An included accessory shoe to 1/4"-20 ball head adapter features 360 degrees of pan and 90 degree tilt adjustment and allows you to attach your monitor directly to your camera's accessory shoe.
You can use the included IR remote control to access and control the monitor's menu features.
The included cigarette lighter power adapter allows you to power your monitor from an automobile cigarette lighter socket, allowing you to conserve your Canon LP-E6 type battery, while monitoring in a car. You can also power your monitor from available 12 V DC batteries that use cigarette lighter sockets.
The monitor can also be powered directly from the included AC power adapter.

Well, this 7" field monitor has it's pros and cons.Pros:- cheap- fully packed with every single thing you'll need to start using it.- very light- the image quality is good (but definitely not the best, or even close)Cons:- the 800x600 image is a bit soft.- in REC mode (at least in a Canon DSLR) it doesn't show a full screen image. The image only fills 75% of the screen size... that's a real bummer.- Only in play mode the image is displayed full screen.no extras assistances (RGB Scopes, Peaking, etc)So that's it...For the price you can't get any better (at least, i'd checked)

Comments about Elvid FieldVision 7" On-Camera Monitor with Canon LP-E6 Battery Plate and Charger:

Considering its low price, this Elvid fieldvision does a solid job. Dummy LP-E8 and all the necessary cables included with the unit is a plus!
I would recommend this product to the budget conscious filmmakers.

I purchased this monitor to use on the field and not be limited to looking at the camera's lcd screen. I guess you get what you pay for but when using it on monochrome (for which there are not specific settings other than desaturation)it doesn't handle contrast, luminosity or gray tones too well.

I was very surprised at how good the image quality is on this monitor, especially for the price. I have seen quite a few other field monitors before, and all but the very expensive had washed out and fuzzy video image. With a laptop connected at 1440x900 I can still read on screen text in a browser. The battery seems to last quite a while as well. And the box come filled with cables. This device is identical to the slightly more expensive Marshall M-CT7

Comments about Elvid FieldVision 7" On-Camera Monitor with Canon LP-E6 Battery Plate and Charger:

The product is good if your primary focus is to use it as a larger screen for your dslrs that don't have a flip screen. My main issue with it is the way that it distorts color. You don't see the true color of the video through this screen which can be frustrating at times. Even with adjusting some of the color settings, it's still not close to the true video color.

Really great product for the price. It works perfectly with my 5d m iii. I use it with a jib and a shoulder mount and it does it's job, I would like the the picture to be a little sharper but for the price it's worth it.

Comments about Elvid FieldVision 7" On-Camera Monitor with Canon LP-E6 Battery Plate and Charger:

This monitor is a great value, but it was not sharp enough for me, and it doesn't not have a headphone/audio out jack, so I returned it and got a different one. I was using it with my Canon 6d, and t4i, and had no problems. I really like that I could have exchanged the batteries with my camera batteries. Pretty decent features of this thing overall, but just not sharp enough for me.

My only concern is that if the hdmi cable is moved, it turns off the screen. I wish the connection was better.

This is a great companion for my dslr..it's lightweight and very visible to the eye,I'm using it with my canon 5d mark iii and it does my footage justice.

Comments about Elvid FieldVision 7" On-Camera Monitor with Canon LP-E6 Battery Plate and Charger:

I have used this item a few times while shooting video from my Canon 60D for an online mag that features entertainment. The screen has been a big help with focus but has made quick hand held shooting very hard. What I have done is changed my style where I go in to an event and hand hold shoots for a bit then mount on tripod with the monitor screen for some nice pan shoots and zoom of bands etc. I then remove the monitor and finish with more in the crowd hand held up-close stuff. It has changed the look and style somewhat of my videos but I feel the change is for the better. Over all glad I got the item.

Comments about Elvid FieldVision 7" On-Camera Monitor with Canon LP-E6 Battery Plate and Charger:
